Tanks not holding aggro in dungeons? The new norm?

Most of the tanks I see lately can't even hold aggro on single packs.

Oh my!!!! Everything's going to the gutter!!! I'm not sure what's scariest!:
A Tank only pulling 1 group at a time w/ aggro problems?
A healer finding the incoming damage from a single group to be stressful?
DPS suddenly caring enough to manage their threat, but in a twilight zone twist they manage it by lowering their DPS instead of using threat reduction?

We are certainly dooololooooomed!!!!!

Just curious, is only using AoE enmity skills once per pack of mobs the norm now? Most of the tanks I see lately can't even hold aggro on single packs. Like most of the PLDs I see Flash once and then concentrate on a single mob after they're done pulling, while the rest of the group expects to be able to AoE everything. On another note I see you really don't have a tank leveled to 70 , nor even passed 60 so hoping this is an alternative character. Please refer to my previous post...

Your opinion of tanks is really uncalled for. AT A MINIMUM have a tank maxed out and if your a healer and have a ping pong experience during a pull, that normally means your missing the healer 101 basics....DON'T CAST or HAVE REGEN TYPE of spell active during pulls.

Note I say this out experience...I have also raised healer role types and as a Tank or Healer I know how the jobs work. This can help you understand your perspective of what you see as the NEW NORM. Some times, when I play the healer role mainly for relic purposes, I have to number one mob to help the tank maintain hate when I know they are being overpowered by DPS not focusing properly. You can help out by marking them as well if your tank is in such poor state.

I mean you can pull huge packs and switch out of tank stance it's not hard it just requires you to actively use and cycle CDs just like in HW/SB experts i'd pull everything in tank stance, drop it, spam DA Abyssal Drain. Nothings changed I just use Quietus now since I can't use Bloodprice out of Grit for whatever amazing design choice reason, you can use Blood Weapon too, you can tank out of stance just have aggro and CDs really, you can't be 1 shot in a dungeon.

You don't need to play a job to understand how threat works.

You don't need to play a role for 60+ level to know when someone is fucking up spectaculary. I had my fair share of tanks who let mobs run rampage without me touching regen or dps focussing a mob in an aoe situation. And I don't need to play a tank to 60+ to know that in this instances, the tank fucked up. Period.
Nor do I need to play a healer to 60+ to notice when someone dies for the lack of timely healing.
Or a dps to notice that an add hasn't been focused down fast enough.
If any of that happens, then I adress it. And they better not react with "You don't play role XY, you can't judge me!".

You don’t need to have tanks leveled to understand the basics of holding aggro. Same as you don’t need to have healers leveled to understand the basics of when to heal, and when to use which type of heal (AOE versus single-target).

True to an extend.... It would be like saying I tell healers how to heal higher tier by knowing only low tear skills. Sure I can look it up, however experience shows that you at a minimum have full knowledge of the job. I would rather take advice from a person that has actual knowledge than one who thinks he/she can tank properly. Same goes for any job really. You can talk about basic common sense, it still does not beat actual job knowledge.

True to an extend; there is more to tanking than just basic rotations. Does not help if you can't keep up with group if your under geared for example. As a healer however you do need to have minimum common sense in when you should heal.

Example; placing regen based skills or defensive actions on tank while pulling or healing others while pull is being made.

True to an extend, the way I see it if at a minimum the player is under geared, does not use cool downs, or even places blame off the bat knowing this, it means they don't know how to tank. Tanking and DPS are the two roles where you really should not be under geared unless it's tome related gear.

Example: If I don't know the role or play it, what right does that give me to complain? Your right you don't need to be a certain level to proof your a jack ass or trolling, you do at a minimum need to have some kind of experience to actually put in your two cents. IF people complain and think not holding enmity is the new norm it does not take a genius to realize that they ether they have no actual experience in tanking , have been paired with low experience / under geared / new tanks, or are just complaining because things don't go their own way. Then it becomes oh it's a healer fault , no it's a tank, ect ect. I am not saying your perspective is wrong, per say , however I am saying that people who know and have raised other jobs properly have a better understanding.

People are over confident do to new level standards that their over confidence can sometimes cause for raid / party wipes that should not have happen and only waste time. While I'm sure we all consider our selves to be great players and know are job, is that mentality that prevents is from learning. I am very confident in my abilities and the Jobs I have maxed out, however I still keep an open mind to learning and pro active criticism. Most people get offended regardless and lack basic common sense. Hey they pay their subscription like everyone else so if they want to purposely act like trolls they can. For those of us that enjoy the game and are at least trying they learn by keeping an open mind is a whole other story. Hopefully by enough embarrassment may force players to change their habits.
