So whats the alternative? The DPS argument works on a priority system of Heals > Mitigation > DoTs > DPS are you suggesting that we change that to [I]Heals > Mitigation > Idle

i don't disagree here as it is what I usually follow when healing. That is not say that there is a good number of healers who have been brought up in the more healer dps meta that prioritize healer deeps. Part of the blame could be palace of the dead leveling too though now that I think about it. My personal play style aside I would just rather have a "lazy" healer than one that constantly tunnel visions into dps or forces pot use any day.

This thread is the community working around poor content tuning. If content was readily available at different group size/difficulty permutations, healers and and tanks would be free to stretch their legs and focus on their roles instead of being evaluated on how much damage they can squeeze into their rotations.

By only having topics about how healers should dps and how a large amount of them don't, to players who don't take time to read every comment go back in game and begin acting like drill instructors to either newer healers or vets while not fully understanding what they're talking about or witnessing. Those are also the same type of people who don't post here. I would like to believe that these posts are here to voice opinions in a give or take manner, but in the long run could be hurting the community. Not sure if that was typed right, I'm not good with words.

I'd agree this occurs to an extent based on stories I've heard in game. I have personally not witnessed this myself though.

So far I haven't experienced it with this specific topic, but I have noticed that it happens with other things that have been brought up on this board. That's why over exaggeration or being overly dramatic can be a bad thing. A lot of valuable information can be hidden within all these posts.

There's always a Gcd/Ocd skill that's need to be pressed.

That being said, even at minimum ilevel, there should be down time for healers. Maybe not during large pulls, but at the VERY least during bosses. No one is asking to be carried by healers. We just want everyone in the party to contribute equally.

With regard to needing a parser to know whether or not the healer is attempting to DPS - what even?

It isn't a secret when healers are casting and/or they go into Cleric Stance. Even come 4.0 with the Cleric Stance changes, we can still see their cast bars and rocks hitting the mobs.
