I don't think I"m gonna get any work done today now having to theorycraft around 100% lily procs? What are the perks? what are drawbacks? How long will it take the nominal whm to master this system efficiently???

Planning around it means maximizing crit, which isn't really bad but WHM was one of the few jobs where secondary stats were all relatively even in benefit thus a player could mix and match or optimize for any of them. I'm going to miss spell speed, and had hoped that the secondaries would be brought in line with each other rather than pushing for crit more and more.
Edit: misread a crit proc in there somehow haha. Cure II with 100% to get a lily is better than I had thought but still can be an iffy mechanic. Cure II is meant for healing a lot of damage in a little amount of time, it's not very mana efficient. And the reward still seems underwhelming.

"Confirmed Cure II will trigger Lily with 100% chance" - From Reddit a bit under an hour ago (of this post's timestamp)
i sch, and i wouldnt bitch about it, thats what whm do 'super heal' and sch shield, but since they removed rouse for my pet my whispering dawn will be weak, unless the rework our pets, cause my pet is my white mage 40% from rouse 20% from Fey illumination then a whispering dawn. for our lack of healing power us sch always shielded and let our pet do the healing while we throw out a succor here and there. if our pets actions wasnt buff from losing rouse then like everyone else in this game, we will BITCH, its in all of us to BITCH when we feel some type of way.I'm peeved about no utility as well. WTF are they even thinking oO
Pure healer won't get the class anywhere unless there's so much damage going around that you absolutely need WHM to heal it up, at which point SCH and AST will bitch and moan so long until they change it back and we got the same situation as before. And it's sad how many people just want to cover their eyes and ears about it...

I wouldn't call that a step in the right direction. Cure II is a spell used only when you need emergency heal on someone, it's not a spammed spell (unless you want to get out of mana fast). So it cannot be the main skill to get those lilies.
If SE wants this new system to be used, it needs 2 things: First, to get decent chances to get those lilies to appear, by playing "normally", as in, not spamming inefficient or even useless spells (as in use a Cure II instead of Cure I just to proc the lily, generating mass overheal that way). Second, the reward given by lilies need to be something we'd like to get.
As it is, the only interesting reward from getting lilies is the ability to cast that new barrier spell. That's it. And it will inevitably feel more like a pain (can't use the skill when you'd need to) than a blessing. If it stays like it is, I'd probably play with disabling the new interface all together. It's just a waste of space on my screen. If I have a lily or more, my barrier spell will be shown, if I don't, it will be greyed out. That's all I need to know to play (which is sad...).
It would be much more interesting if the lilies were given to us by normal gameplay (through regens for example, since they're our main source of healing, and even in the case of heavy damage where we spam cure, we also use regens too in those circumstances). And a nice thing would be if those lilies gave us a passive buff (to be determined, spell potency buff, spell speed buff, something we want to have). So then you'd be having a choice: do I sacrifice that passive buff I got from my lilies to cast Assize or Asylum ?
He also said there were "lots" of other changes, but he didn't elaborate. (or so it is reported) So now... we get to wait till E3/Open BetaEarly Access

Reward is still underwhelming, Yeah it's more "reliable" but it's still wholly antithetical to WHM gameplay. If you want to use Benison, you still have to throw out a potentially useless Cure 2 before casting it.
It is a very perplexing design decision.

Well at least it's easier to plan having to Cure II before a tank burster than, spamming cure until i get a lillie and then not using a cooldown to be able to use Benison
I agree entirely. It's like they stepped out of the way of one incoming car without looking for the one coming the other way.
