I still don't get this idea that all that matters is doing enough to clear. Optimization should be a goal, not saying "Eh, good enough."

Optimization is only really required for high end content and even then not by much unless your doing the content under geared. so in the case of 80% of the content in this game "eh, good enough" is fine. Might not sit well with you but you don't get to whine and moan and complain about people not doing their jobs to your standards as no one has to care about your standards as long as the content standards are met.
