I have to agree with this, but I'm putting it down to poor explanation on Yoshi P's part. I think it might just be my assumption that the three Iai are like mudras, when in fact they could play very differently. I'm curiously skeptical but interested at this point.
Watching a video earlier and they made the comparison to Monks and their three stances. I thought Ninja, as well, right off the bat, but sharing gear and maybe a playstyle like Monk? I'm excited to see either way.
Yey i can ask 100k+ for dungeon runs as a tank in 4.0 from all this over population of dps.
Good thing all the dpses are balanced so they can add new one.all players love monks or drg in a run.Not sure why people are so upset about there not being any healers or tanks.
Any WHM or PLD can tell you how badly they're balanced. To throw another job into the midst of that would have been horrible. I want them to take their time and reevaluate the identity of certain jobs and what they can do for the party.
Once things are balanced and certain jobs aren't suffering, I'll look to getting new toys to play with.
People you know what the big joke here.
Its not even a samurai.
Sad day when a Japanese dont know what a samurai is.
The Japanese are saying that it is more akin to Ronin, not an actual Samurai. The counter argument however, it seems that the theme for the city shown in the trailer, is styled in the Edo period, under Galamond rule. During this time, samurais wore robes rather then armor. And violance is outlawed but not effectivly enforced. I still want to lean to Shogun Tank in a future expansion that still is very far off. And remember, Yoshida envisioned Samurai as a robed Iaido stance user, and a armored Samurai Tank as a Shogun.

Chances are if they remove positionals, they'd add other things for DPS to do. Like melee-specific mechanics, some use of CC, and interrupting spells from the boss that can kill the raid. A boss using an interruptable raid-wipe skill every 10-15 seconds means you need more than 2 people in an interrupt rotation not missing a beat in order to actually get the clear, and if the tank is too busy trying to not get smashed to bits by the boss, that leaves the DPS to do it.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Its a nice thing there no need to balanc dps,most dps dont know what they do any way.
