Honestly we couldn't have another tank or healer added anyways, they can barely balance the ones we have never mind more.

I think the problem with that is that the tank and healer meta is very limiting and unless they fix that they will never get a balance. If you have three Jobs in a narrow two tank or healer meta you will always a situation where one is the black sheep of the trio. Infact having 4 Jobs actually could offer more variety depending on how the different tanks and healers interacted as a pair. One of the biggest mistakes I think they made with AST was trying to force it into the existing healing meta with extra. That guaranteed it would be a nightmare to balance.

I'm happy we are getting this class but I feel a bit miffed. What they are portraying is clearly in Ronin. I wanted a frontline Samurai tank in Shogun armor. C'est la vie I guess. Definitely switching out my DRG for this and keeping my DRK as my main.


the samurai armor before the the arrival of the european was mostly lamellar armor of wood and leather.... i think way too many people think samurai in armor, what was not the norms you know they waswearing armor only on the battlefield not all tge time, was like the knight.... what is different in many aspect


I'm sure there will be that bad ass traditional Samurai armor in game at some point. It's what makes Samurai besides the katana XD If that ugly robe is the only thing they wear then let's all cut off our topknots and kill ourselves now :P

Why're people so worried about 4.0 Queue times being long, when 3.0 Queue times were /just as abysmal/? EVERYONE played DRK/AST, Tank/Healer queues wouldn't budge or move, yet MCH queues were so damn quick! I would know because I tried dabbling in all 3 on release, but that DF queue for DRK/AST was taking forever, so many 'More than 30min'. So no, please stop acting like queue time issues are not something we'll experience /every single expansion/ regardless of what Jobs we have. Everyone will always play the new shiny thing for a few weeks, get bored, call it a day, then go back to something familiar.



So many talking about Palace of The Dead being the saving grace to DPS ques... you do realize the skill level we are getting from there right? There are no positionals in there, DPS don't have to understand the basics of rotations, and timing of skill use. To say nothing of proper group synchronization. They took favorable numbers from favorable implementation and used it as a basis to unbalance the very same Tank, Dps, Healer distribution they worked so hard to create. Dark Knight pulled in DPS minded people and was an incentive to try a role that across all MMORPG's is unpopular due to the stress of defacto leader position in game. Those same players will now jump ship, their loyalty to the role only as strong as their favored glamour sets.
With out Major overhauls to the current Tank, Healer, Jobs to increase their popularity, i truly see a worse problem occurring than NIN's implementation, the fact they did not even take time to detail any of it at their final fanfest speaks volumes.
While not nearly as large as the DPS fan base, Tanks and Healers are corner stones of every party and all game content... As of this moment they have the least amount to look forward to come StormBlood.
At least i can play up the the great hero of the west come to save the east, it's no wonder why they were obliterated, they had no one to hold the line.
