So why is it exactly SS > Det right now? From what I've seen, DET is more DPS. Just curious if anyone can let me in on why SS may be better now.

Its really to do with utility as well as direct damage. SS affects DoT potency and your pet damage. It also allows you to fit more spells within DWT and Raging Strikes, and a faster cast allows you to get those spells of before you dodge an aoe, for example, and literally more GCDs over the course of a fight. The actual difference in dps between SS and DET is about 0.003 so it's really negligible. I just prefer the extra utility of spell speed.
jepp - that's what makes ss (and even sks for Brd/Mch) so much better than det atm.
I just got told that det is still better for melee DDs cause of the auto-arks (? not really sure if det still raises auto-atks...) and tp-pool.
But yeah the utility really stands out with ss/sks right now.

That 2.00 GCD probably isn't going to happen come 4.0. They will scale back stats on gear and stats themselves so that they won't break the game. This balancing happened in 3.0 and it will most definitely happen in 4.0. Or else we will have 4 BLMs with a 1.5GCD blasting away the bosses way faster than they should.

Hey guys and gals. I could use some help. I've been trying to gear up a little better since 3.4 (instead of just going straight for full gear sets) and I'm not sure what I should do.
I understand Accuracy is only needed to the extent that I won't miss in raids/savage (which, in full disclosure, I haven't really done since Ravana), and that excess is bad. The problem is how would I go about doing this? Do I use gear with native Accuracy and meld Crit/SS/Det as allowed, or do I avoid Accuracy on gear completely and attempt to use melds to cap? I'm trying to use Ariyala's website to play with numbers but I don't exactly understand what I'm playing with, so I'm hesitant to trust what I'm getting. The Accuracy stat on the solver is set to 540, but I've seen numbers for A12S being roughly the same as A8S which is 600. And when I set it to 600 I get a different set of gear to use.
Further complicating things is accessibility: I doubt I'll be stepping foot into Creator Savage soon (although I have friends that will), so I'm working with either Augmented Shire pieces or Diabolic pieces from Dun Scaith. Any help with gearing would be appreciated.
i personally wouldn't melt acc into gear beside healer cls. i would take a body or leg part with high acc stat and melt crit/ss into it (like you suggested). aside from savage (a12s) you shouldn't have any problems with acc at all - no matter which gear combination you gonna take. for a12s yeah acc should be around 600... but if you say you wont step into it in the near future - don't worry to much. Augmented Shire parts are almost 2nd best parts to go with (much of it is based on ss which is not that bad) - and with the arc 3 gear you even got some more options as well -> f.e. i like the legs with crit/ss very much and will stick to those until a11s legs will drop although its "just" ilvl 260. (stat weight prio over all should be (acc)>int>crit>ss>det)
There is enough variety on the gear sets to build different builds f.e. our static builds are around (both on 600 acc) 1200crit/750ss/750det and 1000crit/1000ss/650det – first one is kinda common dps build second one is a bit more supportive more ss for hard casting res/shadowflare.
you should find your build first, try to set up your gear WITHOUT materia in the first way... than adjust your prio stats putting them in - its easy to get lost on the calc if you start with each part+materia separately... at least its harder for me that way ^^
so long

If you really don't care about savage grab the head and legs from dun scaith, and get shire everything else. Eventually you will get this set http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/YFQ1 which is nothing to sneeze at. It leaves you just over 500 acc which is enough for the other content like dungeons etc. and you can boost it with food.
If you are looking to go into savage though swap out the diabolic legs for the shire and you will have enough accuracy without having to meld any. My set has accuracy melded into the Alexandrian gloves and the augmented shire earrings, everything else is either crit or spell speed.

until 3.55? Anima-tale is finished with 3.5 – Alexandrian book will always be better than the relict though ;p
Personally i don't think we will get a new Relict before 4.0, do we?...

The truth is, Part 2 will come after 3.5 and 3.55. The third season of The Feast will end with 3.55, we will add the continuation of the Anima weapons, etc. and after that Part 2 of the patch will come.http://gamerescape.com/2017/01/12/ga...-3-5-and-more/3.55 will be released in February, and the patch after is planned for March. Everything is ready for release. All we have to do now is release it at the right timing and we plan to look at the energy of the players for that.
