Because this game is Final Fantasy. It's in the name for goodness sake. Why should a game about fantasy be bound by rules of logic and reason?

Well we may as well get rid of the laws, rules, lore, city-states, boundaries, etc. No point in having any logic or coherence in a "Fantasy" world.

Aye, there are quite a few mage pieces that do have some form of metal plate on them, people would just rather complain than find glamours that look how they want.

The restrictions are just fine the way they are, and it does in fact promote diversity rather than everyone looking identical.

Except that said caster is not really wearing the so called sacred ninja armor. They are casting an illusion on the mage armor they are really wearing to make it look like ninja armor. I really don't understand why the idea of this being possible triggers people so much.

I would hope you would understand that people don't like the thought of looking like a copy of someone else. If I was on my ninja, and I saw a mage glamour on my job locked gear, I would be rightly annoyed, because then a different job is encroaching on and stealing my jobs identity. How do you people not understand that identity is as much about the look as it is about the feel?

Hell, people are pissed because tanks can glamour on generic bedsheets and call those bedsheets mage gear, it's the exact same thing.

I do find it hilarious people don't care that they can glamour on DoH/DoL gear as any job, though. :3

Magic doesn't have to have infinite freedom and no restrictions just because it isn't real. By your own logic, magic doesn't have to "be bound by rules of logic and reason" and be arbitrarily unrestricted just to satisfy you.

So how do you feel about there being someone with your exact face, skin tone and hair color/style? It's possible. Not many face options. But that's just to exaggerate. I think you're highly over estimating how much someone wants to look like you and you alone.
