I would say so.

I wouldn't say I rushed to the end. But I did do many different things very quickly and ended up...at the end. But the goal was not to get TO the end. Just to do things.
I level all the crafting classes and gathering classes and just 1 combat class (plus support jobs) to get to the end.

The end is very boring or very repetitive. I was disappointed. I leveled some other classes to give me something to do, but I didn't enjoy most of them.
I started big-fishing and got, I think 125 or so of them.
Now at the end, I feel there are two types of content for me.
Very easy / boring / low-reward content that takes no effort.
Challenging / boring / soon obsolete reward content. Which requires everyone to perform well. Great fun if you have a great group. A complete waste of time if you get stuck with one person who has no idea what they are doing.

I wish there was more challenging content we could do alone. Like, exploration.

Just remembering days of FFXI. I could go into a cave / dungeon ALONE (not instanced) and fight / sneak my way to the deepest parts, just to see what was there. To find some rare items or just explore.
We actually had to kill really tough enemies in deep caverns and mines to get items for crafting. This one is completely different. Getting items for crafting is not challenging at all.

I felt there was always something cool to discover. I've never felt that way in this game.
I remember trying several times just to get to Jeuno. We actually had to sneak past monsters or call for help / make a party to get things done.
Remember how hard it was to get my first airship pass. And this was more than a decade ago.
This game? I can't even remember the quest for it. That was less than a year ago.

My point is, it's too easy and fast to get to the end. Leveling just 1 character you could get there in a few days if you skip MSQ cutscenes.
In FFXI there was no way. It took forever and so much hard work.

I don't think everyone aims for the end, but we end up there before we know it because the game holds our hand and guides the entire way. It felt like walking on a paved road filled the roses and birds chirping.
And we get there, it's like "enjoy the view. You'll be here for a few months."

In FFXI, it felt like climbing over mountains, valleys, the rain, wind, and snow, while blindfolded.
