Is rushing the game a cause for boredom? your thoughts

Just a question of opinions I see so many post on here about how boring the game is and how repetitive it is I just wanted to ask a few questions. So lets say for a new player would you say that you would say its better to actually take your time than to rush to endgame. Because what I'm seeing is this as far as end game, gear, gear, and more gear and wt. So why is it that everyone in the game says to get to hw asap, what Ive done with my time I actually took 4 months to even get to hw and that was only so I could play the new classes, I plan on stretching out the content until the next exp. So my question is this do you think a cause for the boredom in the game for people who haven't played sense beta that people just simply rush content. And for those that are at end game do you wish, not talking about an alt that maybe if ur bored now you would have taken your time in the game instead of rushing it. Like now Im in hw but I still will do all the arr extreme primals sync and binding coil snyc, and farm horses. I will keep leveling my crafters etc, work on my gil do all of these things without doing hardly any msq in hw, simply because why be on a time frame the end game content will be there all the way up til this summe

All MMO's suffer the same fate at endgame. People devour new content from the patch in 8 hours, get bored of it, then need more. Taking your time, playing slowly doesn't solve the issue but just delays it. The core of the problem is that content takes way more time to make than it does to consume. That won't ever change, so the problem will never go away.

Well, but that means that taking your time absolutely DOES solve the problem, because if you take long enough to finish content A so that content B releases right as you finish A, and C releases right as you finish B and so on, you never run out of stuff to do and therefore never get bored

Yes, rushing content reinforces boredom. However, not rushing content causes people to feel like they're missing out. I actually find that a bit ironic, since they will miss out if they rush past content, but not everyone actually enjoys the game itself. Some people just want to be doing endgame stuff.

I think part of the reason for the feeling some have of missing out, if they do not rush, is that they judge themselves by the gear and progress of others. In my opinion, validating yourself based on others is not the best way to go in life.

I think what rushing does is make a game with three years worth of content something more like a game that can be completed in an rpg , Its like of course I may want the latest gear or the newest stuff but I have to remember that I came late to the party. So its taken people years to get on that path, so why cut my game play down to catch up with them when Ive been playing far less. Its like when I hear people refer to the content in this game like its been brought down to the level of just expert roulette's. Its way more content in the game and I think maybe the focus of putting everything at the end of the game isnt the best formula, with that all its doing is counting on players to stay based on gear lock outs which I dont see how that could be fun for anyone , which is why Im in no rush personally.

I would say that it's more a matter of how much of the game interests you. XIV has a lot of content but the less of it you care about the quicker you'll run out of things to do.

For me I love leveling, questing, and collecting things. I take my time on the main story and work on things like collecting TT cards and minions between patches which in turn has me visiting most areas of the game. I'm almost never out of things to do and even when I take a break to play something else I have goals calling me back to XIV.

On the other hand there are lots of players that don't enjoy these things. If you don't care about the main story those hundreds of quests are just an obstacle between you and the fun part of the game. It's understandable why those people would want to rush to the parts they care about.

There is plenty of the fun things to do at end game. Those who are bored usually are only focusing on one aspect of the game and get tired of it.

For me when I leveled I did not rush it, I took my time and enjoyed the story and watched all the cutscenes and enjoyed the trip to end game. Why would you rush through a game that you paid for and not enjoy it? I don't understand those people.

Take your time and enjoy the game, the most important thing is to have fun, don't listen to what others say. If you are having fun continue doing what your doing.

I say this because I was in notive network as a new player now Im , a trade craft mentor, so I could keep that feature in the game also but I see new players literally gettin to hw in one month, and I just dont understand it , its like why there is no rush no need to do stuff right now , its a whole game not just Alexander raids and gear. Me personally I would rather stay behind sch in content so that I dont have to wait on new msq every couple of months. And by doing that ha I hear that I play the game so much more differently and I think its normal its still 3 years worth of content I dont have to finish it in 1 months time.

People are different. Some like endgame stuff, some like casual MSQ items, the rest like both.

I have had all of savage cleared for almost a month now. Still have fun in there, probably because I am a verbal person and the group I run with uses teamspeak and we are, to an extent, mature and know when it's time to be serious and when it's time to sling jokes.

Most people just have to find their niche sometimes.
