FFXIV has some serious competition with WoW: Legion

call me crazy...but if you love WoW so much wouldn't you want to be playing that game?

Stop trying to make Final Fantasy into a WoW clone. It already has so many features that Wow had paved the way for. I mean, seriously. If you think FF sucks..then why the hell are you paying 14 a month for it?

I don't see how "cloning" WoW would make it a bad thing (I'm starting to dislike the word "clone" in video games), both games take ideas from each other and they benefit from it. Learning from your competition isn't a bad thing, even WoW seems to have copied the relics in FFXIV slightly. I think Yoshida knows that best, but unfortunately he doesn't have the money 10m+ subscribers generates a month and SE is likely giving their team scraps while they milk the cash shop to finance FFXV.

My suggestion to OP is to just well, play them both. You can buy WoW game time with gold which is incredibly easy to acquire, when you burn out on one player the other. MMORPGs just don't put out enough content that's actually fun for an extended period.

Pretty much... FFXIV is....it is what it is. While everyone can post gripes, frustrations and things everyone would like to see changed. It still is what it is and the dev said the current path will continue as is. Anything short of sub numbers going into uncomfortable levels won't change the road map it seems. If it does, maybe the game will go FTP, maybe another meteor will hit the planet and the game will be redone as FFXIV: A Reborn Realm Reborn, who really knows for sure. If people like how it is now and are happy, then great! Let them have fun. For those of us that only like a small fraction of what the game has to offer, then that's okay too cos we have our other games of choice to play and FFXIV can take a back seat to visit when we wish too.

Like I may adore Blade and Soul to pieces, that doesn't mean I want to make FFXIV into Blade and Soul. Why, when I can just play Blade and Soul and have fun there and only visit FFXIV for the things I do like there?
