Do you just keep ramming your face into an insurmountable wall and hope the DPS check gets easier? Do you give up? While yes, technically the failure is on the DPS, if you, as a healer, can contribute the extra 20-30% damage needed to MEET these checks, but choose not to ( when you are safely able, not at the expense of healing, obvs ) is it not also on you?
probably the same way the 0 HPS damage dealer crowd is hitting really aggressive HPS checks?

but for real: i am not totally against doing damage as a healer. it's my job to bring the party alive through the content, no matter what. and when i have to dps to reach that goal i will doing that dps.

what bothers me is staying 90% in cleric and only healing 10% of the time. and also there is a difference between doing dps while there is something to heal and doing dps while there is nothing to heal. i can agree a healer should not staying around doing nothing. but we are at a point where it is expected to doing dps, letting the tank drop to 20% and then using the emergency heals to prevent a wipe.
