A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.

The sub is meant to be their profit, how they spend it its their business.
Prove it, since i assume such a claim means that you personally know the FFXIV team and how they organize and share the workload.
Prove it, i want you to show me all those blueprints, concept art and dev-chats that you have about the flying fat moogle and how it was pre-release planned content that got cut.
I mean, with all those claims, i assume you can prove them to be true.

Obviously you don't know how to read into something, Optional as in you can go to pay or not to pay, in no way does not buying this affect their gameplay, if people are so bothered by paying extra for EXTRA content then they should go play offline games. It's not an "option" to get it on the mogstation when it's exclusive there, it's no like you have OTHER alternative to get the itens, unlike event itens, recolours, creating the race you want at first, choosing your name and choosing your server. I don't see how you cannot understand that people don't find cool paying for a game, paying for a sub, payin for a expansion and then payin for an item if they like it. Wanna pay for it? Doesn't care about it? Great, but is that so surprising that some people do not find this move right? I guess that simples logic doesn't register to you.
Well if cosmetic doesn't matter let's stop putting housing itens, mounts, minions, dyes, glamours, emoticons, hairs in the game. I mean, they don't add anything to the gameplay anyway.
I wouldn't care if this was GW2, for example, then I could put all my money in cosmetics itens because guess what, I wouldn't be paying a sub already.
I understand what you said dear, I just don't agree with your vision of optional. Thanks for supporting this business, if all online games are like this it's because people like you anyway.

So in short, many of you would be happier if all the Mogstation content was never made because then you would not feel like you are "missing out on it", even though without the mogstation that content would have never been done and thus you would have missed on it just as much as you miss on it if you decide not to pay.
It´s all about "if the choice is not one i want to make, i would rather not have the choice at all (nor allow others to have it) mentality.
It sounds like GW2 is a better fit for you >.>Well if cosmetic doesn't matter let's stop putting housing itens, mounts, minions, dyes, glamours, emoticons, hairs in the game. I mean, they don't add anything to the gameplay anyway.

The fact of the matter is, none of us actually know how square handles this. It could be that someone is specifically making mounts for the cash shop. It could also be that the same team is making all the assets and someone is coming through and cherry picking for the cash shop. It's equally possible that it would have been made regardless of the cash shop, but square has seen that people are willing to fork over extra cash so they're gleefully taking it. They have every right to do so and as a business it's somewhat smart. For those like me that get irritated by what we perceive to be double dipping however, it gradually starts cutting the wick shorter each time.
I like FFXIV, thanks. I'm talking about business model here.
There's no way to find out if itens that are on mogstation wouldn't exist if they weren't there. I don't even know why you're treating it like the ultimate truth. So in short, many of you would be happier if all the Mogstation content was never made because then you would not feel like you are "missing out on it", even though without the mogstation that content would have never been done and thus you would have missed on it just as much as you miss on it if you decide not to pay.
Funny you mention that. There is an all-you-can-eat pizzeria buffet in my town that offers desserts and coffee for an extra fee. I've never seen anyone complaining that they can't afford it and that therefore the pizzeria should not offer desserts for any other customer either.
