I unsubbed as well, its just a waste of time. There is 0 dev response and no interaction. I don't think we will see any change until the subs drop entirely. Even then who knows.
How unfortunate because XIV has so much potential. But wanting more content, force pop items/NM/open world dungeons and worthwhile drops and stats is apparently asking too much and when asking for this we all apparently wear glasses. or rose tinted? whatever that means. Well anyway, too bad so sad...no change no response from devs so no sub from me anymore.
It's not "I want Notorious Monsters in the game like FFXI" that's a problem. That's a perfectly fine suggestion, albeit it would probably make more sense as an addition to the Hunts system. It's that some of the suggestions don't work well in the context of FFXIV's gameplay. Just saying "Add Open World Dungeons!" is something that's more easily said than done, and it's not content everyone would be interested in...just like Raids, Golden Saucer content, dungeons and trials. Every piece of content attracts and interests different people. I think Diadem was an attempt to appease the "open world difficult exploration crowds" without negatively affecting basic travel around the world, but it is admittedly in need of a revamp. Fortunately, that's certainly a piece of content they can improve over time, and it's a sign that they're willing to experiment more, even if it's implementation was off. Plus, saying "Add new Stats" and "change how items work" isn't exactly a small suggestion. That is an extremely major change to a core component of the game. Any change like that would need to be carefully considered and even more carefully implemented, and would be far too reaching for a content patch. That's definitely expansion territory, where more major core changes to the game are reasonable. You'd have to wait and learn more about the expansion before expecting a major change like that. It's the same way with increased character-build customization, which is something I'd like to see in the future but I know would need to be carefully implemented in an expansion. For the Devs, keep in mind the language barrier that makes it hard for them to talk about this kind of thing, though I can certainly understand the desire for more interaction with the Developers. Something like the Fanfest might be better suited to asking direct questions. I'm sorry to hear you aren't enjoying FFXIV anymore, and I hope you enjoy whatever other games you choose to play.![]()
I can totally understand the frustration. FFXIV isn't a perfect game, although I'm still enjoying it heavily. I actually overall like the Tomestone system, since it takes the RNG out if you want it to, although I'd be personally fine with the weekly limit being lessened or even outright removed. If people want to grind like mad, that's fine in my book. Right now I'm most looking forward to Deep Dungeon. It looks like it will incorporate a good amount of what people have been asking for (Randomized Dungeons and Bosses, Floor based traps and status effects, usable solo or in a party, and even later will get more difficult and hardcore). I'm most looking forward to it as a way to level up alternate jobs. Assuming the EXP isn't ridiculously low, it sounds like a really fun way to get EXP, even if it won't be the fastest.

Open world dungeons would be nice. Half the fun from a newbie player like me in XI going from one place to another was finding these nooks and crannies and caves that have impossible to gauge monsters and some really nice goodies in them.
Maybe if hypothetically these open dungeons came into XIV they don't have to be as big as the one's we have now but in them there's a few branching paths and dead ends and the gimmick of the dungeons is there's randomly spawning treasure or hard to beat monsters that drop Lore tomes (Or whatever tome later) or glamour items. Problem I can see arising is players learning the spawn times and just camping for them and it could stop players from running dungeons entirely if they knew this tough monster that randomly spawns in the day drops a ton of tomes for traversing the dungeon.
I have most jobs capped at 99. Blm, whm, rdm, brd, pld, nin, mnk, thf, drg, blu, sam, war, bst, rng. And yeah I was aware of the community. We finished all the endgame content the game had up until the final expansion. Most of us were together since Na pc release. We parsed often.
Again, for the third time thunder 4 is not the best blm spell.
You shouldn't come off so condescendingly, it sounds a lot like those wanna be elitists.
Can you both please stop talking about who is more expert about FFXI? It brings nothing to the topic except polluting it with unrelated off topic stuff.
Regarding the NMs/HNMs I think they tried to do that with the hunts, if they wanted to achieve that they failed miserably because all they do is drop lore and seals and not interesting pieces of equipment or something more rare that makes you scream "WOW see what I just got!" leaving you a sense of satisfaction for the whole day and even more.
Now I'm not saying that they need to copy/paste the NMs system from FFXI but anything that would make us feel rewarded for our hard work or just enough luck sometimes would be nice, not everyone needs to be the same what kept me subbed for years in FFXI was the fact that I wanted to be like that shiny powerful player that had every fabolous piece of gear obtainable in the game and I wanted to work hard to be like him (I'm sure many people understand what I'm saying).
Being everyone a copy/paste of the player next to us gets boring and nobody even inspects you to see what good piece of gear you got on your character(except to see what's the name of the glamour you are wearing), hell actually I don't even remember how the previous tomestone gear was called because it's so volatile that noone really cares at all except to meet the ilvl requirements to join dungeons and raids.

This seems a bit overly dramatic and its rare we'll get dev responses and the community reps have to be careful with what they say. They don't want to end up giving us false promises, SE are taking too many pages from Bioware's book in keeping everything a bit too close to their chest however.
I'd love for them to respond more, but they will be paying attention to all of this but its how much do they value their western audiences feedback is the main question.
Considering the size of the dev teams budget I'm amazed we get the stuff we do to begin with. Maybe when XV finally releases XIV might finally get a bit more wiggle room but we'll just have to see.
