    And here I think you bring up another valid point. If tank stances are locked to jobs, what about players that choose to run as base class? Should they really be so gimped? Sure it can be argued that no base class should be used once jobs are unlocked. But that removes the player's choice to do so, for whatever reason.

    Are you serious??? With the stat and job skill detriments...you're actually saying it isn't fair that people actively choosing to play an inferior class are at a detriment? Get out of this thread lol.

    Anyway, getting tank stance early would be detrimental to the development of tank players.

    Giving them enmity bonuses early will make things too easy and not teach them to first jungle enmity, prioritize dps and watch the enmity meters.

    Which will be very hard for tanks to learn if they're used to tank stance all the time

    Point is game offers the option as a choice. Why should other classes be viable but not tanks without jobs?

    Just because it offers that choice does not make it a good one. I could choose to use a rusted spatha on my Paladin instead of a relevant ilvl weapon. What you're virtually proposing is that since it's an option it should be viable, which is just not the case. As for someone bringing up lvl 50 class rotations versus lvl 50 job rotations, that was a thing when PvP was first released. I don't know it's still the case. And especially not without excessive cross class abilities and a complicated rotation that isn't relevant to the topic at hand.

    Wait wait wait...DPS are the ones that need to be juggling enmity here so they don't steal hate, not tanks. A tank's job is to always have all the enmity, no juggling involved. Saying the tank needs to be the one watching the enmity bars, while they need to (so they know when they lost something) is ridiculous, because the DPS should be watching to make sure they aren't stealing hate.

    This game is set up in a way so that no one has to juggle enmity after the early levels. So long as the tank and the DPS are doing their optimized rotations, you don't have to watch your enmity as a DPS. This isn't a nuanced game where you have to worry about personal enmity like in FFXI. As for AoE, the tank can either keep the mobs off of a SMN or not, but that's on him.

    As for the lower leveled stuff, Shield Oath feels like the big offender for not getting earlier. Doable without, but that level range is certainly easier on WAR.
