Give Tanks Tank Stance at Level 15

I personally haven't had any issues with this but people new to tanking with a new character are in a tough spot without tank stance, especially if the dps outgear them. Just swap it with the ranged pull ability in the class quests next patch. The other two roles have an easy start in dungeons, so why are new tanks screwed over by overgeared dps in low level dungeons?

Ranged pull is far too useful to not have, so that should remain right where it is.
But really, low-level tanking isn't that hard. Sure, some overgeared dps or healers will draw aggro from you if they go all out even if you do everything right as a tank, but if they can do that they can also survive handling that mob all by themselves.
As long as everybody survives it doesn't really matter if the tank loses aggro a few times in the early dungeons.

it matters for the tank. it's no fun to be unable to do your job, especially if you just started with tanking and that's the only experience you ever made as a tank. a new tank should have fun while tanking and the early lvls should be kind of easy. a new tank should be motivated instead of frustrated.

I agree with this. There will be unavoidable frustrations in lower level dungeons such as the random DPS who always feels they need to fight mob A while everyone else is fighting mob B and then dies from it... blaming the tank. SE has given us some tools to avoid it but when you have to push excessive amounts of buttons to accomplish something simple, it's tedious and not fun.

I guess it depends on the person. The fact i keep losing threat forced me to try harder. And in turn, i think i'm better now for it. *shrug* I wasn't frustrated, i was motivated. But people are different granted.

If you do things semi-properly, level sync will take care of the strength disparity. I agree that giving PLDs Shield Oath at 40 is far too late, but even as an early GLA it's not that hard to keep aggro as long as everyone follows target markings and you do a regular aggro combo.

And in how many Dungeons will you have Players who follow the Marks, especially if they are synced? As a Tank Player i can tell you, its maybe 10% who just attack the marked Mobs. For me its fine, but for a unexperienced Player it will be no fun, at least not as GLA/PLD. WAR and DRK are totaly fine.

More than that, how often do players mark anything at all in those low dungeons? There was a thread somewhere around here that brought up how some late-game players don't bother because it's all trash, or they'll even actively attack the wrong mobs because "screw you I know what I'm doing."

Also probably doesn't help that the class quests all seem to expect you to DPS instead of tank, and Hall of Novice isn't much better at training. Early tanking is trial by fire, and I can say from experience that early frustrations can lead to avoidance.

Marking trash is inefficient. Every DD has a high potency DoT, and most of them have AoE attack options. Focusing on a single target at a time ultimately costs more GCDs than killing everything together, and everyone should learn this.

If there is not a very specific, heavy hitting mob with particularly troubling mechanics that needs to be taken out of the picture ten seconds ago, the DDs should be switching to higher health targets as the combat progresses, letting things die to AoEs or DoTs, and tanks should be using AoE enmity generation, even if it does no damage because the DDs will be able to do more damage through DoT and AoE than the tank loses from not doing damage moves.

And if the tanks do leverage their AoE enmity generators, they'll build enough hate while the DDs disperse theirs, and they won't have any hate problems even without tank stance.

Not at low levels - there most of them have neither AoE or DoT attacks.
