Have to hunt down a crafter, that is funny cause are they hard to find? Shout in any active area of the game, say Idyllshire or one of the 3 main cities and you certain find a crafter with little effort.
I couldn't agree more... I was just coming to the forms to create this thread if it didn't exist... I am fine if they keep it for crafted gear, or at least crafting/gathering gear... But for the new slots, I wish they just set it free to allow anyone to meld gear if they had the items.
I have my crafts able to do most of this, back in 2.0 I still wanted the ability to free this system from crafting. I get that they want to keep it crafting relevant, but it is, I don't think removing mateira from their skill set will hurt them much, but rather drive up demand for materia, making more and more people use it, because it isn't a pain to do so.

It wouldn't hurt crafting in the slightest. Right now it's just an EPEEN thing with crafters.I couldn't agree more... I was just coming to the forms to create this thread if it didn't exist... It isn't even a pain, just ask it's all you have to do, ask nicely and people literally line up to do the meld for you, and expect nothing, those who expect something usually just expect the word thanks and that's it.I couldn't agree more... In the time it took to read and write and reply to this thread , could have levelled a crafter
It's not even a epeen thing, it's a mechanic designed for people to bring people together, how hard is it for people just to ask nicely for a meld.
I have to say it's funny watching 10 - 15 crafters all rush to someone to give them free melds though.
I dont understand how hard it is to ask, " Can any lvl 60 ( enter your crafter here) do a quick meld for me?" You can literally do this and have a crafter respond in under 30s during peak times, and under 2 minutes during non-peak hours.
I find it funny people are claiming to be raiders, yet they know no crafters and arent in a FC with crafters. I find that shocking.
Because people rather like to bemoan and complain about the smallest issues rather than swallowing up their pride and ask for assistance. You know, being actually social outside their closed circle of friends - Perish the thought.I dont understand how hard it is to ask, " Can any lvl 60 ( enter your crafter here) do a quick meld for me?" I swear, the level of complaints around here reach Tumblr levels these days.
