Given that potency hike for Ruin III I'm wondering if it might make sense to start spamming it even outside of DT, MP and OGCDs allowing.

I'm curious as to how much closer we are to BLM in ST environments with this adjustment. The difference before was quite big (100-150+ DPS). With this, it's official that Miasma II should never be used under DWT in any scenario.
It's already makes sense to use some Ruin3's outside of DWT. Being aggressive with your mana leads to better dps, and a lot of fights have downtime that lets you toss in some Ruin3s and not even feel the difference in your mana. This just makes it even better, and is a very nice Single target DPS buff in general.
Also...interesting note, I just went to my last A3S on FFlogs. When I look at my Ruin3 damage and multiply it by 1.667, and recalculate dps - it ends up being an overall 4.2% DPS increase. That's a pretty nice buff, and it didn't cost us any AOE.
On the downside for casters, that MCH Hypercharge buff is really strong. Gonna be less groups w Bard/Requiem so we may take personal dps hits, although it will lead to better party DPS.

Yeah I'm already hearing talking about running MCH + 3 melee DPS groups. I wonder how viable it will actually be.
Extremely viable. It was already potentially the strongest DPS setup before the hypercharge buff. Now the potency is doubled, and the duration extended 5 seconds. 10% physical buff at a 25% uptime. Also note in progression, that it can still have a 25% uptime while using resource regeneration, whereas Bards lose Foe's uptime to ballad. So They may actually need a t11 type mechanic or two in the series where magic damage is needed.
So glad for this change. I'm sure I wasn't the only one confused as to why SCH got Broil (200 Potency) and SMN got R3 (120 Potency) as the DPS class. It was definitely needed as well with QoL changes to BLM which will improve it's ST even more over SMN.
A little off topic maybe? But did anyone else notice that not only are we getting Titan and Garuda minions but also Leviathan this patch? I know they promised us glamour and I do want them to take their time to get it right and implement it as best they can for sure! But part of me also doesn't know how to feel knowing they spent time to create a model and animations (obviously not a complete set) for a "minion" style Leviathan when we haven't any idea what the Egi might look like :<
Currently Playing: Blue Revolver
Well I would imagine most of these minions, were really for use with Lord of Vermillion(potentially already planned as well) and now with Leviathan, they pretty much have confirmed they intend on doing the other primals as well.A little off topic maybe? You could try doing Miasma II before doing DWT+TD. Only if you use Contagion, though. That way instead of a 80 potency r2 you get a 120 potency miasma II. I don't really know about the whole rotation inside of DWT now. using R2 instead of R3 will feel like a real loss for fitting those Festers in there, though still a mathematical potency gain since 80+300 > 200...i wonder if itll be worth casting a second fester inside dw trance now.. you can get one with mininal clipping by doing r2 (dwt td) r3 spam (swift) r3 (fester deathflare), but fitting another fester in there would require you to either use r2/miasma 2 (definitely not worth) or clip gcd (maybe??)
If you're gonna use Swiftcast without using R2 prior you're gonna be clipping your GCD anyways.
