    Its also a matter of perspective between what the player base perceives and the devs intend, and I don't believe going 200 times through the same content over and over again for one specific purpose was the idea behind it. There's however so many years of content in the game that people can utilize, but instead people would choose the road that offers the least amount of time possible in the game with the least amount of entertainment available because they chose to see it more as a challenge than an opportunity to explore or connect with other players who are just making their rounds though it. For some people, getting their BiS gear in the fastest time possible is considered more rewarding than actually connecting with the community or exploring other aspects of the game.

    Not that there's a right or wrong way to take it- to each his own. I just think its a surefire way to make you get bored of the game a lot faster.

    But let's say I have 2 hours to play everyday, in that time with a bad group I can clear 4 dungeons at 30 minutes each. That's 4 dungeons worth of rewards, now, let's speed that up. If we can manage to get that down to 15 minutes a run, we'd have cleared not 4, but 8 dungeons. Now, how much dungeons worth of rewards is that? Bingo, 8 dungeons worth, in the same amount of time. Which is more rewarding?

    i have 12 hours to play everyday. for me it is much more rewarding to do it the slow way, because if i give 110% in every dungeon i will burn out fast and in the end doing less dungeons in the same time. for me this game is a marathon, not a sprint. i can give my maximum if i play just 2 hours a day, or in raids and stuff. but grinding dungeons over and over again? sounds more like work than playing.

    If you do anything for 12 hours a day, even literally pressing 1 button and watching Netflix on the side it would get mind numbing. Many people are in the situation where they have 1, 2, 3 or even 4 hours to play at most, and as such getting things done efficiently may be preferable. That's not my point, it's more rewarding to get 8 dungeons in 2 hours, than it is to go 4, period. Rewarding for your feelings or whatever? Maybe not, rewarding in actual rewards obtained in-game? Yes, there's no arguing against that.

    At this point, you're trying to argue monetary rewards are more valuable then fun or pleasure. I'm just chuckling over here now.

    for 2 hours probably. but 4? i know noboby who does 16 dungeons in 4 hours. or in my 12 hours scnario 48 dungeons? i don't think so. probably the world first savage people. but all in all not very realistic. and i have my rewards. was one of the first on my server with an animus, novus, nexus, zodiak an zeta weapon (but i am not working on my anima right now xD). i also have finished heavy grinds like getting fenrir, R300 racing boko, rank 20 battle chocobo, completet the fishing log... i can get these rewards not because i am lazy (if i was lazy i would not get them at all), i got them because i am working on it. slow, but steady.

    From my point of view, being lazy is unfun, unrewarding, and all around makes my playing experience worse. I was simply "adapting" the post to Tint's point of view, where a more "chill" playstyle is more to their liking. The original point was that the game rewards speed, and it does. Is doubling your "reward" not an increased reward? Let's even factor in personal enjoyment as a reward into this, you want to complete your daily roulette if you're like me, you dislike doing that greatly and every minute spent in that dungeon feels like hell. 15 minutes of hell is preferable to 30 minutes of hell, there you go, personal reward is now factored in. Some people also see doing their best as a reward, and they may like to best their previous best, I doubt anyone out there prides themself, or feels a sense of being rewarded from being mediocre.

    But I do have a feeling you're trying to be funny with your gifs, so I don't know why I'm bothering.

    If I'm going to be honest, you weren't working on them very slowly if you were server first, but I have no idea the size of your server either, or we just may have different ways to define slow.

    i was not server first, but i was one of the first :x the difference is i have lots of time. if i work slow but 12 hours a day it's still faster than a person who has only 2 hours who is working fast. i could work fast too, then i would probably server first. but then i have to stay around for the next weeks doing nothing. and i would burned out so i need these weeks to recover from playing a game xD i just wanted to say: doing 4 dungeons in one hour is not always the best way to do things o.o/

    and i also don't know why we are drifting from healers who stay around doing nothing in downtime are bad to healers who don't push themselfs to the absolute limit in normal 4 person dungeons are bad o.ô;

    Healer DPS is effectively extra mitigation. You throwing out a few DoTs or whatever helps things die quicker so they don't deal more damage.

    Can't believe so many of you are so terrible at your job to not realise this.

I define "most effective" as being "most likely to lead to a successful run" and she defines "most effective" as being "fastest". Since the game rewards success and does not reward speed, I think mine's a more accurate way of measuring effectiveness.
    In a game with vertical progression, saying that it doesn't reward speed is heresy. You just got it completely wrong. Even the tanks cooldowns, the tp, the mp bars depend on speed. You don't want to run out of any of them. Then how is it not speed? Everything in this game is rewarding speed. There's only a little few content that punish you for being fast.
    That doesn't mean you can't choose your pace though.
