All this says is that going faster is faster.The quicker I finish the dungeon the quicker I can move onto the next instance. It doesnt need to be an item for it to be a reward. Saving time is also a reward.
For example. 1 person finishes their dungeon in 20 mins, another in 40 mins. ( again example not actual times dungeons take.)
Player 1 has a 20 minute time period in which to do things while player 2 has to spend an extra 20 mins of time to catch up, and even when he does catch up he's got another 20 min worth of stuff player 1 has already gone on and did.
The quicker one finishes a dungeon also means the quicker they cap whatever, the quicker they get relic items I guess since thats popular at the moment. Again, just examples.
