Then you admit the game has a huge issue that isn't being addressed. That's good, the first step to recovery is acceptance.Well high damage should be expected from DPS in high end content. However, different things should be expected from tanks or healers.
As I said, if the only way tanks or healer can make a difference is by their DPS, then the game has a huge issue and won't last long (the raids anyway).
I would love to see a SCH doing 1k DPS on Phase 1 of Thordan-EX. Would you possibly have any proof to back this?
I mostly ask to see if you have a valid perspective on it - you don't have the clear, and from all the times I've had my friends tell me what people were pulling, healers were -never- near 1k DPS, so it's definitely an interesting thing that crosses my mind.
I'm told my DRG pushes 1,350-1,550 DPS on Phase 1. That's at about i206 with the 205 weapon.
I notice DPS tend to float around 1,000-1,300 at i200 entry requirement.
High expectations for everyone![]()

What ? I've stopped raiding in FFXIV since AS came out because I immediatly noticed it was poorly designed. Since then I have been crticizing how the battle system of heavensward was designed.
The battle system is exactly the same as it was in ARR. I don't see why it took until now for people to realize the problem. The game is too easy and the raid content is restricted to min-maxers of every role and there is no sign of that changing any time soon, it doesn't help that the community wants to do inane things like be a 30k hp tank in shield oath while the boss does chip damage or a healer who has HoTs running and won't Cleric while the tank is regenerating immediately.
Mate I play FFXIV since the beta (both the 2.0 and the 1.0 one) and was a FFXI player, trust me I noticed the issue since the beginning. The battle system is exactly the same as it was in ARR. I don't see why it took until now for people to realize the problem. The difference between 2.0 and 3.0 was that, in 2.0, you didn't have to use a huge number of abilities just to do something as simple as DPSing. Poople have been talking about how FFXIV was lacking of utilities abilities (which is the true root of the raiding problem in FFXIv, along with the 8 man meta, which limit how SE can design their raids) since the beta. Obviously it is more costly to program new skill effects rather than implementing abilities which deal flat amounts of damage, that s why we won't see any improvement...

Well then I guess it's just a mystery how a str tank can just mysteriously croak over and die on mobs almost instantly to the point that my Tetragammaton or Benediction couldn't even register in time to save them -shruggggs-
You may call it connection problems and I won't put it past comcast at all lmao BUT I will just go ahead and call it a squishy tank problem. NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG.. I don't mind healing a str tank but if you are gonna croak over on me like that then you won't get any Holy's from this WHM. I'd rather save a wipe than dishing out healers dps. If that makes me a bad healer than I guess I am lmao
NO! this popcorn has extra butter on it! ALL MINE!!!![]()

Ok, I'll just heal myself then. Between Equilibrium, Inner Beast spam, and the all around laughably low damage in EXR right now, you're not needed.Well then I guess it's just a mystery how a str tank can just mysteriously croak over and die almost instantly to the point that my Tetragammaton or Benediction couldn't even register in time to save them -shruggggs-
