This is irrelevant to the discussion. The fact is that if you leave the game you will be punished by losing your house and you will likely never be able to get another one. Players who do not have a house now will most likely never get one. 1.8% of the playerbase still controls all of the wards. This will do nothing to improve the housing situation. All it will do is guarantee that a certain number of people never, ever, ever unsubscribe. It doesn't matter if you personally would or wouldn't base your subscription on something like owning a digital property. The fact is that for most people, gaining gil isn't the value of the housing plot.

The value of the housing plot is the housing plot itself. Getting that is so enormously unlikely and astronomically uncommon (1.8% out of 100%) that they will see it as something that cannot be replaced, unlike the millions of gil that went into buying it. That's why you don't see anyone here complaining about the gil. It's about owning the plot. Because the plot itself has value independent of the gil cost. If it was just a matter of gil no one would care. But it's not a matter of gil. It's a matter of winning the lottery and getting a house at all. I can't believe people can't see through this.
