Because TECHNICALLY parsers are against the ToS because they are 3rd party software. If you admit to using a parser to parse someone without their consent, you can be banned of they decide to report you (which I strongly urge OP to do).

imo the guy is just trying to help, but maybe he's not going at it in the best way.

Offering tips to someone might make them feel offended, but that's not the goal the majority of the time. No one is expected to be "pro" for a long, long time, but tips can go a long way.
