If it has gotten to the point the OP felt the need to make a thread about it and is constantly harassed by said player, then it is an issue for the OP. Granted the OP could just black list the guy and be done with it, but could also report them if need be.
Because TECHNICALLY parsers are against the ToS because they are 3rd party software. If you admit to using a parser to parse someone without their consent, you can be banned of they decide to report you (which I strongly urge OP to do).
No offense, but it kinda sounds like you're being oversensitive. Your join date is last month. There are probably a lot of brds that can give you sound advice. I don't really understand why that would break your heart or put you off of brd.
Not having experience doesn't mean you're bad. But refusing to listen to people with more experience is a good way to become bad quickly.
If you think he was rude or weird in how he said it, then tell him that (or just blist). But getting offended when someone's explicit goal is to help you improve is a bit strange.

When in doubt, assume sarcasm
All players have room for improvement and we can get it from a multiple of resources. You probably know some other bards that you could approach or do a quick google search if you are unsure about your performance and want to improve it. As far as the parser guy, his approach is abrasive in my opinion. Does not matter what his motivation is, whether to get your attention or to just help. My advice is to tell him to back off or you will report/block him. Or change his approach if he genuinely wants to help you improve your game. Please don't let one overeager person ruin your fun.
As other have mentioned - using parsers are against ToS and if you wanted you could report this person and SE could see that he mentioned using one in game. Seeing he was... silly enough to mention it in game he could be banned and loose his account for using one and bringing it to other attention.
My opinion - First off does he have a 60 BRD and does he play regularly, or is this a player who just feels they know everything about everything? Also, I see what he was trying to do but I feel he came off in a wrong way. Saying you have low DPS and he is going to 'train you' would rub me the wrong way. Is this a friend? A FC mate? Maybe they could get away with it - but just some random person on the server who everyone knows breaks ToS on a regular basis. Eh, I don't know if I would want to take advice from someone who isn't smart enough to keep under wraps that he's using an illegal 3rd party program.
Now if he'd come at you in a different way say, "Hey you're doing really good but I noticed a few things you could do better to help you damage wise and I'd love to help you if you'd like me too" I think would come off more appropriate. I understand people want to help one another - but not fan of people who come off like you should be grateful they are even taking time to notice you and you could be thankful they said a word to you. >.<
By the way, don't feel bad for this upsetting you, Yoshi-P made parsers against ToS because people were using them to harass people though it seems like he was trying to be nice just came about it the wrong way. Don't let one person's opinion get to you and just keep getting better!![]()
Does the parser dude even play as Bard or a dps class even?
Parsers could be a good way to improve one's ability, but are against the tos
I do not think he had overly bad intentions, so do not feel bad
@ Malevicton, forum join date is not the same as join date of the game, some people are not into forums much![]()

There's not much to discuss here, since the OP didn't provide enough details for a proper context.
So, there’s this guy I know on my server who is really fond of using parser addons to view everyone’s dps output. The other day he contacted me and said that he was going to train me because I made some bad mistakes as a bard.
This actually broke my heart a bit. I’d managed to get to level 60 in game, with an ilvl of 191 and I’ve just been put off doing anything with bard again because of this guy’s attitude. He made it seem like I’d committed some cardinal sin because my DPS was too low and I didn’t have a fixed rotation (it differs depending on the situation so its not fixed like most people probably keep too.)
So, reason to the thread... I've gotta ask the community this: Have you ever come across people like this?
I support parsers, but he should know not to talk about them with strangers. He's going to get himself in trouble.
Also I don't see how it could "break your heart" or make you quit the job. That part I'm lost on. All he said was you made mistakes, then offered to teach you. Basically he told you that you could be better.... at a video game. o.O I don't think that warrants your emotional response.
I feel like this is just a troll anti-parser thread. I don't think people really get this worked up about ONE person saying they are doing badly. Either that or not all the facts are being shared - that's my 2 cents.
