This is just a simplified example as I was in daily roulette as DRG and the SMN refused to touch the adds, so I had to jump over and either resume the combo going or re apply heavy thrust and start again; as opposed to continuing to play that combo out.
I truly get annoyed at this as well. As a BLM I make it a point to focus those adds ESPECIALLY if the other DPS is melee. That is kinda the point of my job after all. I am ranged and can burst things down very quickly, so why should the melee DPS have to waste time running around like a chicken with it's head cut off? My friend went through a similar situation with a SMN in fractal too. The SMN wouldn't AOE and then asked what DOT's were? XD When the party tried to help they said "I don't care about that stuff" and then ALSO didn't even attack the adds at the end boss to top it off. XD

Tanks that don't understand how to manage hate on more than 2 mobs at a time. 3-4 targets, ok. More than that for a Paladin, that's more understandable

Tanks that fidget and dance around with mobs and don't even attempt to stay still for positional-dependant DPS. Sorry, I'm not eating an AoE for someone else's parser hard-on.

DPS that still don't seem to understand how to target the mobs the Tank is focusing on, and instead keep wailing on a separate mob and then spaz out when it aggroes them.
Normal definition of a bad player ["Bad" being an adjective, not a noun. Apologies for the Grammar Nazi moment]:

*Doesn't put in the effort to make their jobs serviceable in dungeon/raid fights. I'm not talking HQ gear/Raid drops, just gear that is close to where their item level should be for that fight.

*Refuses to adjust their mindset to the composition of the party (Hello, meathead tanks who Leeroy through dungeons and healers who don't know how to turn off Cleric Stance).

*Excludes jobs in Party Finder based on forum nonsense and/or perpetuates said nonsense (MCH, AST, now PLD).

I have several times let someone slide if they tell me they are in that situation. Sometimes it works out. Sometimes I still have to kick them cuz their "knowledge" was phase 1 lol

Having spent my time leveling AST solely in aurum vale since level 47 I can say that if you want to see bad habits the player base has just run that a few times and you'll see them all.

I can see what you're saying. But I personally think that someone who's demeanor alone can bring down the morale of their fellow teammates or otherwise make a run harder and less enjoyable than it should be still falls under this category. In the example of the "good skills, bad attitude" player that I used, the person in question was notorious for their attitude. So much, in fact, that people would leave a premade party if they joined and saw that said player was in it. It made it that much more difficult to get things done. And once in an instance, they would berate others. Sports players have other incentives (namely, money) to put up with bad teammates that would otherwise kill morale. We don't. We can just leave and try again later.

FFXIV is meant to be a team experience, and everyone has to be a team player. In my opinion, that's what we're signing up for. And if you can't cooperate with the team, then you are missing the point of the game.

At least, that's how I feel about it.

I've said this before in another thread, but I think that that's the beauty of Aurum Vale. It's the first dungeon that really, really rides on the team cooperating as...well, as a full team. Tanks have to watch how they pull and consider position and their friends, healers have to watch when they heal and where they're standing, and DPS have to do their best to kill things quickly while avoiding AoEs and staying near the healers. And of course, if people snatch each other's fruit, that simple lack of consideration can get the entire party killed.

I've had my fair share of horrid AV runs, but I love it just because it makes or breaks a team in a heartbeat.

It's totally possible to minimize movement (meaning avoiding having the mob rotate more than like 45 degrees for instance) and still dodge things, I do it all the time. I was referring to Tanks that move non-stop. Had a roulette just yesterday where you'd swear he thought the floor was lava or something.

lol, I've heard many people claim that AV is/was harder than any of the HM dungeons - including un-nerfed Pharos Sirius.

It's a good test of ability and teamwork, that's for sure.
