Its... makes me kinda sad. I just made a gaming rig to see this game in a new light, i thought the low res blocky chuncky stuff was from my intel4000.... i really hope i dont get disappointed

Not sure if my NVIDIA GeForce 760 Ti was that powerful as I got an Alienware last summer (my dad gets discounts through his job on Dell computers) that was a model that came out late 2011. DirectX 12 does make a difference as the graphics card is used more than the CPU.Windows 10 or DirectX 12 have nothing to do with it, a game has to be built for DirectX 12 to utilise its feature sets, not just exist on the operating system it was made for. The reason you got a higher score is because computers today are much more powerful than they were 5 years ago.
A selfish thing to ask for? I guess we should all be ashamed for using DX11 and the visual improvements it can being, after all, PS4 users don't have access to it. I'm not suggesting they remove all low resolution textures, just add an option for high resolution textures, like almost every PC game in existence. >_> I don't see how that could be considered selfish, especially since it's a highly requested feature, and many people can make use of it (even mid-end GPUs have started to have 4GB of VRAM now).
Yeah DX 11 is short lived with the new cards so move onto DX 12 far more capability's + many pc gamers have good graphics cards anyway. Course if their comp doesn't support it they still have the dx11 and dx9 options.
Considering that we play with the camera zoomed out fairly far, do you think replacing all the textures with "high resolution" ones will result an any noticeable detail difference. Probably not. And regardless it's not going to happen! You got a DX11 update and that wasn't enough. I don't expect adding a high resolution texture option would be either.
The ugliest thing in the game are the shadows when cast over a large area. They look blurry and blocky, and a lot of games suffer from this. They could increase the shadow resolution to 4k or 8k but who knows what kind of effect that would have on performance. It's not that important anyway.
I beg to differ. Low resolution vs. medium resolution, fully zoomed out and in flight:

The difference is even more noticeable where both textures merge.
This is the inherent problem when companies refuse to stop supporting out dated technology. It is the also the same reason we no longer have new games being made for Super Nintendo. You must either keep up with the technology and upgrade your console system, or buy a PC that is easier to upgrade just by replacing components and not the whole thing.
I for one would welcome a hires texture pack for my PC.
Not wanting to start a console vs pc war, but that is the problem when people buy the system, but then get all upset when a company says they will no longer be making updates available for the older console. Either expect to upgrade, or expect to have the lower quality textures and video performance.
The PS3 version of the game uses lower resolution textures than the PS4 and PC versions.
PS3
PS4
Any claim that the PC and PS4 versions are being sacraficed for the sake of the PS3 version. And despite what you may think SE may or may not have said, they have never claimed the PS3 specifically was responsible for anything that the PC/PS4 version lack.

Count me in. A high res texture option would be really nice to have. I remember Yoshi-P saying 2 years ago that they always want to have the best looking MMORPG out there and that they would continously add more graphics enhancements to the game. And while they did that, they missed out on the most important and obvious ones, namely being solid Anti Aliasing support (Having only FXAA in your game these days is a sad joke) and high res textures for people that have mid to high end PC's. Many textures in the game are already quite nice but some of them are just laughable. Mountain textures for example, pretty ok looking from afar but once you come closer you go back in time to early PS3 era games.
To the people saying but muh console, well, you get what you're paying for. Obviously a box that contains 5 year old outdated hardware can never produce high fidelity graphics at an acceptable framerate. Why should PC versions be held back because of that? Doesn't make sense.
