Stuff that's confirmed:
-Relic (presumably a tedious grind of FATEs, obsolete dungeons and a moneysink all rolled into one)
-2 dungeons (we'll be sick of them in a week)
-1 casual raid (we'll be sick of it in 2 weeks, after failing to loot our desired items a bunch of times thanks to RNG)
-1 new primal (you'll do it once)
-1 new EX (will be on farm in a week)
-Airship shit (either a pointless waste of time, or farmed to redundancy in a week)
-1 Gold Saucer minigame (will be a stupid grind like Chocobo racing/triple triad because we can't have any minigames that are fun by their own right)

And that's it. For 3 more months until the next section of Alex and more of the same piddling crap.

I've been wondering how they will make the airship content relevant. Will it actually drop useful gear? What will be the point of doing it? We literally have no info on it...

As for relic, I remember in the interviews Yoshida said that he knows people want boss fights instead of keeping old content relevant and being forced to help noobs...then again they told us we'd be getting new avatars in 3.0 so I don't really trust anything they say anymore ^^; Can you blame me? Lol.

What exactly is it that you want then? If you're not interested in the current content and you have that kind of attitude about all of the upcoming content it sounds like this might just not be the game for you.

My guess is it'll be tied to obtaining Gobdip/Gobtwine, the way hunts were a while back.
I'll be pleasantly surprised if there's a frontier currency, unique bosses and/or gear associated with it (besides glamour).

Sounds like the standard MO for a MMO.

I imagine most MMOs maintain the interest of significant portions of their playerbase for excess of 4 months after the launch of their first major expansion.

What exactly is it that you want then? If you're not interested in the current content and you have that kind of attitude about all of the upcoming content it sounds like this might just not be the game for you.

Oh trust me, I've unsubscribed. I'll resub for story patches because I'm legitimately invested in the plot but this game has no staying power whatsoever.
Which is a shame. It was fun in the past, back when Coil was relevant; if still a bit anemic on things to do between weekly resets, but Alex Savage is a pile of shit and I cannot justify wasting $12 a month to cap esoterics exclusively during the 2 month interim between the release of new content. The fact we're getting less content per patch now is pretty disgusting given 1.0 is a distant memory and SE plans to sell us annual expansions.

I pretty much agree with all you've said. And yeah, it needs the latter half for this game to continue to at least hold my interest, or begin to go in a good direction to get people to stay. I will be shocked if they put in a new currency and useful gear from it. Let's hope its not another glamour thing....D:

You can't get 2-4 hours of enjoyment each month? Just basing that off of other types of entertainment just as a movie or something along that line.

That's not really an apt analogy.
Yeah a movie might cost $12 but that represents potentially hundreds of millions of dollars invested in writing, acting, filming, special effects, etc. to produce the final product.

Is that not still giving them money for a product you find inferior? Anyways I wasn't trying to attack you your post was way more aggressive then what I posted. The game been out for 2 years and I just don't see them changing how they going to do things.
