So, pretty dead lately....

Famfrit is pretty much dead, the only thing that I see in the PF are pony farms which I find extremely boring, if I see a bismark or ravana clear party I usually join just to help them but now there is nothing in the PF. Yesterday someone found two A rank really close at the Hinterlands and only 8 people showed up (myself included) and we waited like 20 minutes, also I used to play with 3 friends all the time but they stopped playing like two weeks ago, so I level up 2 more classes to 60 just to do something different but at this point Im just sick of the same dungeons and grinding, I tried crafting but I quit after two days, I need patch 3.1 now!!

Eh I do all the content in this game (Crafting, Gathering, Raiding, Fishing, own my own FC and large house and everything) and I still find it lacking in terms of variety of content. Let's get real, the zones are massive, gorgeous and have tons of potential, there is just not much to do in them. Needs way more open world PVE content. Majority of my friends feel the same way and unsubbed

I'm afraid 3.1 isn't going to help.

Stuff that's confirmed:
-Relic (presumably a tedious grind of FATEs, obsolete dungeons and a moneysink all rolled into one)
-2 dungeons (we'll be sick of them in a week)
-1 casual raid (we'll be sick of it in 2 weeks, after failing to loot our desired items a bunch of times thanks to RNG)
-1 new primal (you'll do it once)
-1 new EX (will be on farm in a week)
-Airship shit (either a pointless waste of time, or farmed to redundancy in a week)
-1 Gold Saucer minigame (will be a stupid grind like Chocobo racing/triple triad because we can't have any minigames that are fun by their own right)

And that's it. For 3 more months until the next section of Alex and more of the same piddling crap.

I've been wondering how they will make the airship content relevant. Will it actually drop useful gear? What will be the point of doing it? We literally have no info on it...

As for relic, I remember in the interviews Yoshida said that he knows people want boss fights instead of keeping old content relevant and being forced to help noobs...then again they told us we'd be getting new avatars in 3.0 so I don't really trust anything they say anymore ^^; Can you blame me? Lol.

What exactly is it that you want then? If you're not interested in the current content and you have that kind of attitude about all of the upcoming content it sounds like this might just not be the game for you.

My guess is it'll be tied to obtaining Gobdip/Gobtwine, the way hunts were a while back.
I'll be pleasantly surprised if there's a frontier currency, unique bosses and/or gear associated with it (besides glamour).

Sounds like the standard MO for a MMO.

I imagine most MMOs maintain the interest of significant portions of their playerbase for excess of 4 months after the launch of their first major expansion.

What exactly is it that you want then? If you're not interested in the current content and you have that kind of attitude about all of the upcoming content it sounds like this might just not be the game for you.

Oh trust me, I've unsubscribed. I'll resub for story patches because I'm legitimately invested in the plot but this game has no staying power whatsoever.
Which is a shame. It was fun in the past, back when Coil was relevant; if still a bit anemic on things to do between weekly resets, but Alex Savage is a pile of shit and I cannot justify wasting $12 a month to cap esoterics exclusively during the 2 month interim between the release of new content. The fact we're getting less content per patch now is pretty disgusting given 1.0 is a distant memory and SE plans to sell us annual expansions.

That's not the server being dead though. That's the content finally outliving its usefulness. There's little reason to do Bismark and Ravana EX at the moment. Either people have already done them as many times as they needed or they have their Eso weapon so there's no point for them to do it again besides maybe for an alt class or glamour. Hunts are reaching the end of their rope too since most people don't need i180 equipment anymore and have already gotten the other Centurio rewards as well.

On Diabolos I rarely see people doing Bismark or Ravana anymore and I see hunts being called less and less every day, but I still see tons of players running about wherever I go. All of the towns are still busy ,low level areas still have a lot of activity, and even the popular FATE-train areas regularly have multiple groups running around them. There might have been a small drop-off of "familiar" faces, but otherwise you'd be hard pressed to notice any real difference in the server's population.

I pretty much agree with all you've said. And yeah, it needs the latter half for this game to continue to at least hold my interest, or begin to go in a good direction to get people to stay. I will be shocked if they put in a new currency and useful gear from it. Let's hope its not another glamour thing....D:

You can't get 2-4 hours of enjoyment each month? Just basing that off of other types of entertainment just as a movie or something along that line.
