It's been nearly a year since Sleipnir mount was released in the cash shop, at most i can see it going on sale for it's anniversary.

I do think SE/the devs are testing the waters to see what they can or can't get away with.

The Sleipnir mount caused quite the stir when 1st announced almost a year ago

Since then we've:
1. Not seen anymore dyes in the cash shop. The pastel dyes being obtainable via retainer ventures
2. More Scion minions
3. Previous events items in the cash shop
4. No more mounts in cash shop despite there being so many obtainable in game. Post Sleipnir debacle we've had: Shiva pony, Kirin, Node, Fenrir, Gil Turtle, black chocobo and Midgardsomnr.

Let's come back to reality here. This is a game. This isn't a gulag, this isn't a concentration camp, so leave it out.

Her point was very relevant, using real world comparisons. However I'll throw you a game comparison: You would not be playing this game right now if Yoshi, the Legacy players, and all the Final Fantasy fans out there didn't cry out for ARR's re-launch. If those people shared your thoughts, none of us would be playing this brilliant game right now.

Also, to people say that "But you buy map packs on CoD! Same thing!" No. It's not, we don't pay them a monthly fee for additional content. That additional content(the map packs) is paid for, from the dev costs side, by the price we spend on them. We aren't paying them a fee to make new stuff, until after it's made and released. P2P MMO's....we're paying in advance for additional content/features with our monthly sub. Having what could be an awesome reward for grinding Odin....has turned into a 25 dollar purchase. 25 dollars for a horse. ....didn't Bethesda get blasted for charging 5 dollars for the same type of thing? ........................

25 dollars for a horse so? if your not buying it then who cares? and no it was not just the fans that made ARR's re-launch it was the fact there first take on ff14 online was so bad every game review and anyone with a brain called SE out saying the games crap {we still get fans on here to this day saying 1.0 was much better and they want it back} so id say they fans had a split on what they wanted. Anyway the cash shop hurts no one and is not doing any harm to this game SE is not adding anything in the shop that makes ppl use it a lot. Now if the day comes when SE starts doing everything via cash shop and brings out gear mounts i lvl pots weps and stuff that's game killing then sure it be bad id quit

When that day comes it is TOO LATE to tell SE that the cash shop should not and MUST not be a main focus of development resources.

I saw people saying the exact same thing as WoW's cash shop slowly grew. It was a very slow process, like a glacier moving - but look at it now. Seriously, go look right now at the mounts released for their cash shop in the past year, and the mounts released to be obtained in the game in the same time period.

The very same thing has a significant possibility of happening here simply because "Company thinks of profits" is the same no matter what company you talk about, be it Blizzard or SE.

If someone wants spend 25 dollars to rent a pixelated virtual item that they lose the moment the servers shut down or they un-sub then fine, that is there choice. I cannot fathom how anyone can justify the price of a mount. Just me though. And no, I can afford it just fine.

....you do realize the huge gamble SE took relaunching the game right? It was so horribly received that, 95% of companies would have cut their losses and moved on. SE didn't give up like so many other companies would have, and they didn't give up in large part because of Yoshi, the Legacy players, and the FF fans that asked for it so much.

I think you missed the point, but oh well.

People against slavery stopped slavery because they were not defeatists like the person I responded to. I was not comparing slavery to the cash shop, only comparing it to the defeatist attitude taken on by the person I was responding to.

Defeatism would have meant their struggle against slavery would have been lost, defeatism would mean our struggle against an invasive cash shop would be lost. Same concept.

Also like how you ignored my other video game specific examples :P anything to please the sensationalists though, right?

My point stands, please do not draw attention away from that by going off topic.
