(this is an opinion, my opinion. feel free to ignore it)
If you look at the MMORPG history, all games that do not cater to a wide ranger of player skill levels either fail or are niche: If it is too PVP then then PVE players leave, if it is too "hard" the casuals leave, if it too x then y leaves. What the designers of a successful game do is find the "goldilocks" zone. There is some pvp, there is some easier content, there is some harder content, there is some casual content, and finally there is the content that requires you to treat the game as a 2nd job. There is also the timesink category but that one can vary and wander across the other play styles and expose you to them.
The concept of "nerfing" older content is nothing new. It is also a natural evolution in a game.
Okay all that being said, I have NO problem with having extreme primals, nightmare coils, etc. I also have NO problem with how 1st and 2nd coils that used to be the "nightmares" are now easy. I think that if this game is going to last as long as WoW or Everquest has then the cycle will stay the same: NEW content is hard(er), other content gets progressively easier as time goes on.
There are only two things that I honestly dislike about this game: a. I hate the 8 man raid size. (yes it is probably because I do not have a static) I feel then tend to encourage cliques and isolated grouping for the end game raids. b. When I enter a new dungeon (yes if it is anew dungeon or a new role, I clearly announce it in the party chat), and or raid (especially a "learning" one) is the elitest people that rant at a first time screwup, if I miss it repeatedly then yes get upset, but calling me a moron and a n00b, and advising me to just kill myself the first time I see the dive bombs in 5th turn is a huge turn off.
I would LOVE to see raids and dungeons that encourage FC (guilds) to come together and get them done.
