    Very good post, agree 100%. Pretty much outlines why ive unsubbed yet again from this game. Yoshi started out great but has since been losing touch with what made this game great vs. 1.0.

    I might return post 2.4 to see where things are, as well as the NIN job and Golden Saucer, but if previous "features" are anything to go by, Yoshi will find some way to screw it all up.

    But in all seriousness, a Dev Cycle doesn't necessarily work patch-to-patch. Different parts of the team work on different aspects of the game (i.e. some on patches, some on expansion, etc). Some of the "forward progressing" ideas we've seen discussed here may either be in development or planned for an expansion. I don't know for sure, but I do know that often we have to push back things to a bigger release than a patch, simply because of time. There are a TON of moving parts to game, particularly an MMO that has to constantly evolve.

    I know everyone gets tired of hearing "just wait till the expansion", but honestly, that is where we could definitely see the biggest changes occur because of the above reason. The team in general has had to work much faster than anticipated. Things don't always go according to plan, but for the most part they have been up front with their shortcomings and where they plan on going. Not many devs would release this kind of information publicly.

    And maybe we won't see big changes. I'll pretty much be happy either way, aside from a few things I would personally like to see change or not change. From my perspective, this is exactly how game dev works, and frankly SE has been pretty open about how they plan on moving forward.

They have been giving out 14 day free trial do they sty or do they just leave after the 14 days. There is more going on than Yoshi is admitting or not admitting.

    You should just stop now and save as much face as possible, you have no clue how to interpret those numbers.

    Sure. I'm in the camp that is pretty happy with the dev response most of the time. I do see where some of the complaints are valid and it's important to take SE to task when they slip, especially when you start seeing responses like Yoshi's "unclear" one. If you don't, you end up with Blizzard and nobody wants that.

    When it was apparent to the developers that the housing wasn't going to go the way Yoshi had stated it was, that should have been made clear to the player base that the reality on the ground had changed. Players would have been annoyed, but it would have averted a large amount of rage.

    Why Nothing Changes

    One reason nothing changes in this game is because every thread designed to get the dev's attention to what we might want changed degenerates into bickering amongst each other over petty things.

    Be constructive & on-topic, I don't want anyone else derailing this thread.

    Thank you RakaM., it's true, it's annoying.

    On-Topic: seen people talk about "well you don't know what it takes developmentally or programming-wise", sure not entirely...

    I just know that more complex or rich systems are doable/possible with extra effort/time spent.

    Server Capacity is one issue but it doesn't mean an implementation can't be infused with more fun. It may affect Housing Wards but surely they can make a system like Chocobo Training more engaging & interactive.

    And if Server Capacity keeps hindering the game so badly, they need to stop padding their corporate wallet so badly & upgrade their servers adequately.

    They need to announce a hard date to for canceling PS3 support, it's holding back what they can do so badly. I worry for the expansion having to rest on PS3 limits yet again.

    I get the feeling server updates are being held off until the xpack.

    I certainly hope we see some big changes with that. They can't even get content they promised out on time (eternal bond) or as promised (housing).
