But so many of these responses aren't feedback. They're simply, "I don't like where the game is headed." To quote a wise philosopher, "Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man."
And while it's certainly an understandable opinion to have, a.) there's nothing else to go on...what direction would they rather see the game head (saying, "I want it to be like this game or that game" is not a sufficient answer). And b.) The numbers are still the numbers, and the numbers say that the vast majority of people playing this game are enjoying it (and the vast majority of people playing this game don't bother to participate in these forums).
So, yes, to those people I would say that if they're this unhappy with the game (the OP has been posting these kinds of threads before and after every major patch for as long as he's been playing), then there's a good chance that their opinion isn't going to change in the future. It's probably for the best if they play something else.

While you maybe correct, the fact that XIV is continuing to bleed subscriptions should speak louder and it should tell the dev's they NEED to change directions. I am not saying make everything casual nor am I saying make everything hardcore, but the theme park route definitly dose need to change, along with making old gear irrelevant so fast.
Please. Enlighten us. Where is your source for this so called "fact"? It better not be anecdotal either because that's not how facts work.
Just to clarify, unlike the World of Warcraft forums, which require an active subscription to post (at least until they go F2P), FFXIV:ARR's forum lets you post even if your subscription is up and automatic renewal has been suspended. I've been out of the game for about a week now and can still post. So it cannot be assumed that a person posting on the forums is still actively supporting the game.
I believe this is done so that players have time to post their concerns about the game, since many people might not get a lot of time to visit the forums prior to their subscription time running out.
Anyway, toodles and many moogles to all my buddies out there still playing! I'll be back eventually!

All of the relic quest so far seem pretty fair. There is 1 major flaw with it and that is it requires no skill or hard challenge to obtain one. Just alot of grinding content. There is no content that are just for relics. (Example: Ifrit Extreme was ONLY given to players in 1.0. Also Each Relic levequest boss was different for each relic.) All of the relic quests is just recyled old content. Give new content. Not rehash the samething over and over.
Part of this issue is Yoshi and Co are copying everything and pretty much anything from other games and do it very badly. Now Yoshi could take some systems from XI not just mobs, there are plenty of endgame systems that could be borrowed and improved on. For example the loot lockouts could be changed to a point system where your contribution is what nets you the points, instead of a week lock out, players could access said content every 2 or 3 days. Things like this would go a long way into improving this game.
Very good post, agree 100%. Pretty much outlines why ive unsubbed yet again from this game. Yoshi started out great but has since been losing touch with what made this game great vs. 1.0.
I might return post 2.4 to see where things are, as well as the NIN job and Golden Saucer, but if previous "features" are anything to go by, Yoshi will find some way to screw it all up.
TL;DR, looked like complaining both that things are too easy or complex or time consuming.

MMO players complain that not everything in a MMO is perfect, more at 11.
