Solo players can now earn Seals at a steady pace, enough for one i110 every three weeks. Dedicated huntmaniacs can still zerg about for infinite seals, just a bit less than they used to. Players are now encouraged to do hunting content at closer to intended group sizes.

The A-rank competition doomsday scenario will only happen if players continue to treat group hunts as a be-all end-all for progression. I guarantee you that zerging being taken away as the only method to hunt, along with the proxy nerf to big group hunting rewards will disperse a lot of competition on its own. Hunters will likely also disperse and...*gasp* do other things when their targets are on their 2-3 hour cooldowns.

It is still a perfectly viable method for players wishing to specialize in it, and still far better than any other content we have for gearing up without a static.

The unfortunate end of this is that the majority of the playerbase still has no reason to do harder things like Ramuh EX.

This is on the saner end of system changes they could make without totally breaking it over their knee or making it impossible for server-wide efforts to participate. I'm sure some people will continue to complain that they're getting less seals in a zerg now, though, because they can't flash-mob B-ranks in between A-ranks.

EDIT: And hopefully we will see more efforts to spawn S-ranks during downtimes, as well.
