Yeah, like others have said, these changes don't mean anything for the people that hunted all of the time and ignored B's. A's and S's are where it's at. However, I am curious as to where in the patch notes it says that the spawn timers for A ranks have been increased. I didn't see that anywhere.

Suddenly there is REASONS to go back and do Duty Finder during the A rank cool down. Suddenly casuals can actually upgrade their gears to level 90 in mere days doing their daily Hunt Mark and DO the duty finder to practice the Dance-Dance-Revolution-Or-You-Die-Die. Everyone is happy to be able to get seals. Hardcore can focus on hunting A' marks, less people will be inclined to deal with the zerg-a-thon since they pretty much earn enough seals per day by doing OTHER contents.

The ONE and ONLY reasons why seal is so attractive is the no lockout on how many sand and oil you can get from trading seals. If you disperse the seal distribution to other contents, it makes the old contents become somewhat attractive and provide enough incentives for casuals and hardcore alike. Farming some of these trials and dungeons for seals become an option, and in turn, helps more casual players to get "carried away" and able to complete content. Everyone wins at the end.

When you make ONE content as the most attractive reward wise, it renders everything else pointless. This is pretty much the insight from the complaints on Hunt. It was the same exact problem when FATE was the most effective ways to gain level at launch. They fixed that, in the correct way, so now FATE is the optional thing you do while you wait for your DF to load. Hunt should be the same thing, where the majority of your seals will be coming from contents on your Duty Finder.

it's far from be viable, it's not even decent. it's still a band aid that solve nothing.
you talk of people that want to specialize into this, believe me i had hope for something really big and grand before the patch and since... it's only deception on deception.
i means it's clearly possible to create something really insane with the hunt. but that not them goal, it's only a secondary activity, then instead to work seriouly on it and bring us something that was waited for, we do have get this instant gratification fest.

    how make it grand? easy...
First you need to rework all the system for make it more interesting:
exit the dailies/weekly, exit the mark in the open world too. (that a good start since all this junk are barely enough)
instead you bring back the faction leves system, more you hunt for a city, more your earn point for this city, with this point, you get acces to bigger bounty that can be done in group of 4-8. but that not enough, you can even get some bounty for alliance, that give better reward indeed, but are far more dangerous. if you fail, you loose the bounty and the point used for buy it.
this bounty can be classed for people with stuff i70-90-100-110 and offer a challenge for everybody in the community, while still offering the possibility to offer interaction with other. since you will need more people for get the best bounty and some FC out don't have the 24 people for do a full alliance.

that cover the dailies/weekly part, for the open-world part, use the FATE already present for add more deepth. i have said that the FATE systeme need a rework. here the idea, you divide the FATE into 2 type, the helping community with the escort, gather item,.. and the hunt part, with kill a pack of monster and kill boss FATE. the two type can pop in sametime, actually the two must pop at the sametime, when one helping spawn a hunt FATE must spawn for force people to choice, better for make it more interesting, the timer of all FATE must be lowered, 15 minutes is too much for most of the FATE, indeed when nobody is around it's nice and all, but i think 8-9 minutes is more than enough. they need to add pressure to the player about be fast for act.
you can even push more, by making special boss fate only spawn if some recquirement into kill pack of monster fate are meets. like end the FATE in less of 3 minutes and the boss will pop.

anyway, it was even possible to create a content that allows the creation of a ladder and make a meta-game into FF14 with the hunt, but that wasn't the goal and we did get this... farce!

Idk about that i mean what's wrong with a slow down i mean did we want everyone to have i110 gear? and for ppl that don't like teaming up {like my self} this is a good thing as i see no need to rush for gear

So many twisted panties in here. I'm amazed at how people froth so hard over gear that for all intents and purposes, is not really needed unless you're doing Coil2. Basically this change is going to make it easier for people who don't want to go and join hunt groups to get seals, which is the way they intended Bs' to work to begin with. B's got crapped up by massive groups and their tendency to think that everyone should wait for them, I'm very glad that this is over, no more idiots complaining about early pulls when they take 5 minutes to get to a mob that's worth 5 seals.
Also, if it means that people have nothing to do between A pops, this is a good thing in that it will reduce the number of people actively hunting.

One thing I'm not sure about though, will killing B ranks without rewards (the weekly Bill) still give credit for achievements?

There are people of all stripes with different PoVs on Hunts.

Fact is, there were changes coming to hunts, and there will be more changes coming in the future. With all the PoVs out there concerning this content, some groups of players would be unhappy regardless of what was done.

I believe the point behind Zumi's post is: not everyone who is late to the party is a casual, who puts progression on the backburner. Some players, who would grind hunts hardcore, will now have to work twice as hard to achieve what others have already obtained.

I think that not only hunts are broken. Main post lvl 50 system is broken too. In normal way you should grow doing new more difficult duties and modifying your equip using drops, etc.
In real life on this way you will meet in your duties overgeared and overskilled players who have many variants of reasons to enter such duties. If you are i70 or i80 you will be unable to overneed/overgreed i90-100-110 player and will miss any valuable drops.
Myth/soldiery/seals girinding gives you an ability to get i90 gear, then i100 and upgrade it to 110

As a result - payers lose a motivation and fun - grinding is not ineresting and players grind in a hope than they will gear up and theeen... and what? Next coil? It's pretty the same as prev.

Just now i practically lost any goals. I don't know what to want further.
The main crafting achievements i got is private fc+cottage. I don't understand what to craft - it's easier to get stones and obtained gear will be better than crafted. Gil? What to buy?
    Endgame duties? "EXP only" ©
i have a trouble to enter and when it's done, i meet "farmers" grinding drops... for what?

I think that just now real fun in this game is replaced by surrogate - "i grind in a hope to get fun further when i'll be equipped". I see that this will not happen - new equip is only a step to the new grind.

Now I'll never have to worry about my party going to a B rank and risk missing an A rank And of course everyone getting a different weekly mark now is very much welcome.

I'm very happy with these changes.

Since hunts were added I only managed to save 500 seals and collect one log. I tried hunt parties, but most of the time the mark would be dead before I loaded into the zone, or there would be so many players in the area I couldn't see the mob to tag it. Now I have a chance to collect some seals at a steady pace, even if that is less than those with higher end PCs can obtain.
