And you can still play with your friend every night now. What were you doing every night anyway in FFXI that you considered raiding to begin with, seeing as to how Dynamis and Limbus were both at 3 days lockout each at release and for quite awhile after ?

No, it wouldn't. Who cares? People are already in Full soldiery a month after the patch. I'm throwing myth items at my alts I don't even use. After you do coil in game there is shit to do, other than hunts.

Using hyperbole won't do you any good. It takes 10 weeks to get a full gear set of soldiery, weapon excluded. Also, you are throwing myths on alts when you don't even have a Novus yet so I am inclined to believe that you are either ignoring content unwillingly or are just ignoring it because you don't want to do it but again, this refer to my previous statement: There is a difference between content that you don't want to do and content that exists.

People want to play with their friends, they want to pace themselves, they don't want to play the 8-man-static game or the log-once-per-week game.

You can easily pace yourself at a decent speed and play with your friend everyday, just not rushing and getting everything done in less than two weeks. I mean, if you are complaining right now about lack of content with lockouts, one can easily figure out how even worse it would be with no lockout.
