So my fellow Dragoons, I have a bit of a concern now that I've begun digging into the Turning Coils of Bahamut. While I've known for a while how many people would rather see BRDs on their team than DRGs, it irks me more so now that I've experienced it firsthand. I just had my first playthrough of Turn 2 and it was me, two Pallies, two healers and 3 BLMs. Some of you might already guess my concern. The BLMs were already pessimistic from the beginning, though the healers were fine. When we reached the last boss, we weren't able to kill it off (even though I used LB3 w/Blood4Blood and debuffs) and it was due to the BLMs running out of mana. I'm a DRG, not a BLM, so I wasn't able to restore their mana. You can figure out the rest. How do you guys go through Coil? Do you just truck on through?

If you're talking about turn 2 enrage where they choose to go down the left path without checking party composition, iirc blms has less 'worth' than a drg there. That path would boost the main boss's magic resistance by a good deal and decrease the 3 blm's damage output by a lot. The right path would increase the boss blunt and piercing resistance (if I'm not mixing it up) and lower your damage output by alot. It's 3 vs 1 on who gets to do less damage so going to the right is probably more favorable (the mini balls are weak enough to be brute forced without any silence by now). If the tanks pulled it at the right timing, the main boss will go into enrage before he does a high voltage or any other move depending on the path (about 40-45 seconds after 1 click announcement). Sure, the bard would guarantee the healers being able to outlast the fight with their mp but pushing your dps before the whms run out of mana is another way of looking at it.

Lvl98 drg here, I have all but weathered body. Is the plus 5 str worth the change of dropping crit/det by 25? If so or what content? I just don't wanna waste the 825 sol.

@Vashawn The chest upgrade is definitely worth it if you're having trouble making accuracy caps on T8 & 9.

stat weight wise, 5 str is worth 15 det or 22 crit, thing is : that weathered can be UPGRADED which give u a bonus 5 str more or u can try ur luck and loot HA drg body from T9

If you dont need the accuracy, don't bother with it.

Unless, you got plans to immediately drop a sand on it.. even then.. other parts of the sold set are more attractive.

Hey guys. I'm looking for a bit of advice in regards to what gear I should have. I'm nowhere near Second Coil level yet. I still haven't even done Turn 4 or Titan Ex yet.

My current gearset is this:

Weapon: Gae Bolg Zenith (working on Atma)
Head: Wyrm's Armet
Chest: Wyrm's Mail
Hands: Wyrm's Gauntlets
Belt: Weathered Astrum Belt
Legs: Wyrm's Breeches
Feet: Wyrm's Greaves

Neck: Hero's Necklace of Slaying
Ears: Weathered Gloam Earrings
Wrists: Weathered Gloam Bracelets
Ring: Weathered Gloam Ring
Ring: Vortex Ring of Slaying.

My iLvl is 93. My first question is, should I be using the Vortex ring or the Hero's one? I asked my FC leader who is also a Dragoon and he suggested the Hero's one. My second question is, can you suggest any improvements to my gear? I should be doing Turn 4 this weekend and also working on Titan Ex, so you can include loot from those in your suggestions. Hey guys, so as far as sold purchases go I've gotten boots, pants, and ring and a few various other accessories (earrings bracelet specifically) as a result of poor drops in coils and desperately needing some kind of upgrade. I also (and regret it now honestly) have the weathered belt. Everything else is i90 including my body and helm. Both are wryms.

I'm stuck on what to buy with sold now. I know gauntlets are bis unweathered but i have the HA ones to hold me over. I am not hurting on accuracy at the moment so the body doesn't look very appealing, same with the helm.

Should I just hold onto my tomes? I'm getting dangerously close to 2000 cap and am stuck on what to buy, if I should buy anything. If not should I invest in rowena tokens and get a tome for weathered liberator? I'm working on animus and am 4/9 books so far. Currently using allagan spear. I seem permanently stuck at i96 with no good way of boosting it without coil drops which have been eluding me for a long time now.

If you need the acc = use the Vortex, if not, use a Hero's. You adjust depending on the needs of the fight.

I would pick up the choker, and the hands (you did say you were about to cap ). Why? Because they are quite nice, more so when upgraded.

Try to play regularly with people who don't make you want to pull your hair out. Be patient/helpful/explanatory in Duty Finder. Don't worry about people who ultimately do not affect you. Pretty much everything in the game is instanced, so who cares? You think F1 drivers worry about people who can't parallel park? Doubt it.

This is kinda what I was getting at with the Durant meme. If you're still playing dragoon and you play it well I'm assuming you're a boss. You get the most crap thrown at you by this community, have the slimmest margin for error for any DPS class and are generally the hardest working person in some of these instances. So yeah.
