What boggles the mind more is how changing the name makes any difference to how the class plays. If we're being honest, our Black Mage is about as far removed from the Black mage's of old as can be and is pretty much Black mage in name alone. Sure they have nukes, but only if you count three measly elements and none of the supporting spells like Drain.

I'd sooner have a class which plays like a thief, looks like a thief and is called a Rogue than a class which plays nothing like either and is still named a Thief.

They want to play Thief as a Job. Not change the class name into Thief.

And the problem of Thief as a Job is that it'd likely be similar to Bard given Ninja is fulfilling the DD Job.

If people want to play Thief, is it harming anything? The same people who would play Thf are playing a DD job anyways? It doesn't matter how many DD jobs are out there, the people who want to play DD will flock to DD.
