It quickly becomes like a mob mentality and people converge on a single person in a rather vile manner.

This is why I will stick to my guns. Are you new to the dungoun? If yes, do you want to watch the cutscenes? If so, I'm on your side. That is all there is to it. I'm doing this for Myth Roulette bonus too, but I'm not going to step on -you- to get there. And those that think that Roulette is your personal speed run tool? Sorry to say, don't be a hypocrite and do what you tell others to do - make a party finder for your speed runs. The statement goes both ways.
I commend that you support the new players, and I try to do the same. What I've learned (the tricky part) is that everyone has the right to queue on duty finder, whether it be for a story run or a fast myth farm run. When the rest of the group don't want the same, it's difficult to handle and that when both sides can be know to be rude and pushy. I try not to be anymore and while I'll stick to my guns, I won't call people selfish anymore or get nasty.

x_x Tule, I feel like you're annoyed by my posts somehow?? Of course I'd rather not switch from a game (that I'm not actually complaining is bad!) to one that I'm skeptical will be able to achieve what I consider the impossible (based on human nature / or the general attitudes of our society).

The question was actually meant to highlight that I don't think any other game can achieve this happy situation that I and others were expecting without compromising something else we enjoy about the game. Of course I don't want to waste my time so that's why I'd love if you can explain how you think the game achieves this. Obviously it could be that there's a downside I'm not happy with, like as you describes with the challenge being greatly lower and aimed at a younger audience.

Besides that I'm into the fantasy style and art of FFXIV and not so much DC hero's, so I'm not literally willing to hop into any game that can offer fast queues, with cutscenes and no rushing. I know that's what I said, but I was trying to make a point rather than literally looking for another game to play. I thought that was clear, but sorry if that came across as insincere.

I'm not saying that have a harmony of strangers in every instance, but it does exist commonly, because it gets to the point where there is no need for a 8th member, or a 7th, because of how casual it is. Which is why I don't play it. Which is probably why you won't play it. But CM/Prae are in this game that you do play, and they have that level of casual that doesn't require a 8th or a 7th. And people only want to do it once. You act like they do it all the time. Same with the person who ask me the TYPE of cutscene. Well no one is defending person who wants to watch Tonberry King spawn for the 1,000th time. There are certain circumstances. If you're saying no game exists that is EXACTLY like this. Okay, you're right? So what? That means nothing. Unless you were talking about player behavior, then it could mean something. But I just told you not all games are like that. Then people are come in saying the games I mention don't count because they aren't EXACTLY the same? That isn't the point. Or if it is, then it is a point that makes no sense and holds no weight. You brought up a point, I countered that point. Now you're expanding it with claims about art and type of game? The idea of this thread was about player behavior, nothing else. And if it isn't, then anything posted in this thread is wasted breath and I'll leave.

I used to get angry at other players who didn't allow me or others to slow down and view cutscenes, or who would continue into boss fights without me or another player who was still in the scene. I have called players selfish in Prae runs for not waiting for another player, and I'm no longer proud of it. The reason I posted is to explain why I don't get angry about it anymore, and why I think the system is OK, and hopefully pursuade some others not to get angry or upset by people farming on duty finder (so long as they aren't rude / offensive). I also wanted to make some suggestions to make the system even better (particularly for new players) with changes to the party finder notifications, etc.
