There are newbies in party finder doing dungeons for the first time. If you force them to skip cut scenes at all you are impinging on their experience. You're being selfish and doing only what you want. People like you are the reason my FC like to take both tanks and both healers in with our new players and force the run to view cut scenes.

Viewing the cut scenes in the inn out of context is not the same. Stop being selfish and let people experience the game correctly. This isn't a debate. You're just wrong and trying to justify it.

Is this aimed at me (OP)? Have another read through please. I never forced speed runs and will always stand beside the player who wants to slow down. I'm simply explaining that i've come to peace with that fact people will use the duty finder for speed runs for the reasons explained in the top post. I don't think it helps to get angry at players who farm on roulette. If they are aggressive and rude however (any player), as I know many are, I'll never condone it. This post is aimed precisely at you I think. Sounds like you're aggressive and forcefull to players (as I have been) who aren't willing to wait for scenes, even if these players say nothing offensive at all.

Duty finder is for new players, and always has been. The only expectation of duty finder is to join and help out regardless of the situation you find. If helping new players watch the cut scenes is a crime then it's the only crime I've ever commited in the duty finder. Don't go making assumptions about my behavior in duty finder solely because I disagree with you. I do nothing but help people in duty finder every single time I join new players.

Well to be fair Tiggy, you made a wrong assumption about me, but yeah two wrongs don't make a right I guess. I also support new players and will opt out of running on without the guy in the cutscene. @Tule and anyone else as well, I want to make clear I never meant to suggest new players should concede and skip scenes or accept that they'll be locked out of a fight if they aren't happy to. Only that they should not criticize or be rude to other players who will not wait for them. If the groups interests are different to their own and they can't compromise, hard luck - leave and try again. Duty finder IS for new players, but not exclusively. At the risk of sounding like a twerp, I think my attitude now is more mature, realistic, and productive than when I would start mouthing off to players for not waiting. Sorry if I assumed that's something you do too - no offense intended.

Now I'll try to politely encourage the group to slow down for the new guy, but if an agreement can't be met, I see no point playing tug of war. I'll leave or vote abandon, and if the player's on my server I'll actually try to get them a group together after with my linkshell.

EDIT: just to be clear - I love players to have a great first run, and always look out for such groups in party finder. I made a linkshell for that exact purpose also, to allow people to find patient and considerate groups. My change in attitude is only towards the duty finder, and how we should not expect such first time run's on tap, right now. It's unrealistic. We can't force players to be helpful, only encourage and keep putting our own support out there.
