Are they "cutscenes" as in "ROAAAR! I'M ANANTABOGA!" or are they cutscenes as in "Oh mine lord, how I love thine kind words.... *yadda yadda* oh no! big bad is coming! *yadda yadda* all their base is belong to us! *yadda yadda* HULK! RAGE! HULK! PUNCH! *yadda yadda* happy ever after *yadda yadda* fin"?
Because Story Roulettes' cutscenes are the 2nd one
Because he said "Please tell me the game / time, when you could get a random group, at the drop of a hat, in less than 20minutes, for any dungeon that would politely support you despite inexperience and wait for you during long cutscenes."
It doesn't have cutscenes, but it has quick dungeon that support inexperience and will support you. I think saying "because it doesn't have cutscenes" it being a little too specific. The idea here is there are two groups of people in pick up dungeons, and one group is rushing the other. And he is acting like that is inevitable. It is, to a degree, but there have been and still are games where you can find somewhat patient people and you don't have to go out of the way and wait "hours / days / weeks for your first run, but enjoy it as you would like to."
Sounds pretty amassing 0_0 I'm still skeptical as I can't fathom how DCUO could have achieved this. Do you think there's any particular reason why FFXIV and other MMO's are different to DCUO in this way? Can they achieve the same do you think? I'd like that more than to switch games tbh.
9/10 times, I've noticed most people aren't in as much of a rush as people seem to think they are to complete the Myth Roulette for Main Scenario. However, there is always ONE extremely vocal person, who pushes the person to skip - and everyone else is going with the flow. It quickly becomes like a mob mentality and people converge on a single person in a rather vile manner.
This is why I will stick to my guns. Are you new to the dungoun? If yes, do you want to watch the cutscenes? If so, I'm on your side. That is all there is to it. I'm doing this for Myth Roulette bonus too, but I'm not going to step on -you- to get there. And those that think that Roulette is your personal speed run tool? Sorry to say, don't be a hypocrite and do what you tell others to do - make a party finder for your speed runs. The statement goes both ways.
So now we're getting more and more specific. And they range. Most of them are boss introductions, but there are fairly long ones. Like the end of a raid called Prime where the Bad guy is defeated, the good comes in and gives a speech, badguy rises and beats good guy, bad guy gives speech, then both badguy/goodguy exchange taunts and run off"Are they "cutscenes" as in "ROAAAR!

Besides, if we're getting specific, is it really that common? People do it ONCE and then DONE forever. And again, its PRAE/CM, it isn't T9. Do you really NEED them? No, you don't.
Oh, so you're welching on the deal. Okay, so it was all talk. I see.Sounds pretty amassing 0_0 I'm still skeptical as I can't fathom how DCUO could have achieved this. Of course we're being speicifc. This bad game design of bunch (not one, not two, but many) long (don't forget this is a global game, English is not my native langauge and I read slow) cutscenes, is not common in ONLINE games.
So yes, we're being specific
No one is talking about 3 second boss encounters. And you know it. (I hope)
This whole debate is about long chains of cutscenes... So PSO and PSU don't belong here.

There are newbies in party finder doing dungeons for the first time. If you force them to skip cut scenes at all you are impinging on their experience. You're being selfish and doing only what you want. People like you are the reason my FC like to take both tanks and both healers in with our new players and force the run to view cut scenes.
Viewing the cut scenes in the inn out of context is not the same. Stop being selfish and let people experience the game correctly. This isn't a debate. You're just wrong and trying to justify it.
The point was that he was looking for a game were people weren't rushed and were allowed to view things LIKE cutscenes or do things at their own pace. As backed up by the quote " I can get a group easily for any group content in under 20 minutes and be free to watch scenes, explore and play at my own pace without being kicked or harassed?"
This implies that he is talking about the way players treat others that want to take it slow. Watching cutscenes is just the vehicle for this debate in XIV. And it only done once. I don't think ANYONE has ever defended the guy who wants to watch the cutscenes EVERYTIME.
