Gear won't help you with mechanics and the only people bothered by elitism are jealous players who desperately want to succeed but can't.

Actually, I'm a little put off by the elitism. What is the point in shoving it in people's face? Yes, I post in the progression threads, but people make a choice to visit those threads, so it's a different story. I don't walk around bragging. If people say something about my gear, then I'll respond, but other than that, it's whatever. As an example, I'm not the greatest in PvP. I'm not a fan of people who lord that over others, which is why I refuse to do it when I'm in the same position. Do I think it would be cool if the gear stood apart? Sure. With all of this said, I actually prefer those not doing Coil have good gear. Helps my daily roulette runs, FATE's, etc. go much quicker.
