As do I, which is why I'm only at 56 hours instead of what it possibly could be. I'm not here to complain about the grind, but rather the RNG element being a lazy implementation. The quest in itself is rather lazy, but it gives me something to do, all that needs to be changed is how the atmas drop, instead of rng there should be a set progression.

It may be my prior experiences with MMOs and RNG, but that part doesn't phase me at all. To me it's just another element in the MMO world. It's not the first time in this game or others before that I've had to do something repeatedly to get what I want and it won't be the last :P That said, I wouldn't mind there being some sort of set progression in the future in regards to how we upgrade our relics. The books after the Atma grind are a good start. They kind of gave us a little bit of both with our upgrading this patch, really.

RNG in and on itself isn't a terrible mechanic to use. It's just how and where you decide to use it. What if every time you tried to cast a spell, you would hit a button and it would pick a random spell? Just because it might have been used in a different game doesn't mean it belongs in all of them. Gating "content" (actual in-game quest/dungeon progression) with RNG is a terrible idea and should have been avoided.

Don't misunderstand, I get what you're saying. It certainly wouldn't work well with spell use and I can't say that FATE grinding for a chance at 1 item 12 times is tons of fun. In reality I don't care for FATEs but I was happy that they added this grind. I hope they bring in more grinds but less FATE-related ones. What it comes down to really is that some people will enjoy certain things and others will despise them. SE can't please everyone.

I'm not misunderstanding lol, I'm not even saying grinding is bad. I started mmo's as a kid playing runescape, that game is pure grind. I love grind, no matter how dull/boring it can be. I'd just rather it be a fair system that rewards everybody equally for their effort put in rather than base it off of luck. I think we're both agreeing in different ways. I love grinding and want to see a bit more of it, but make it at least rewarding.

Yeah...I suppose we are in a way. I just think that they tried something different (to this game anyway) and some people like what they did, others not so much. The MMO community is really difficult to read. I agree that it should be done differently and the feedback SE has received probably shows that. I'm ok with how they went about it this patch but I'm also fine with them not doing it the same way again...well, at least as far as the first half of the quest is concerned. :P
