    Literally every single person complaining about atmas falls into at least one of 3 categories. 1) Grinding needs a set goal no matter how high it is (which I'm sure if the system was that way they'd complain about that too). 2) This is the be all, end all weapon and I want it. 3) I don't have the time for this, or the group for Levi/Coil. I will address each of these.

    1) Top down action RPGs like Diablo and Path of Exile, by this argument, should be the least popular games ever and not sell at all. Top tier loot is based entirely on RNG, and that's all the game has. No other progression options. But these are some of the most popular RPGs today.

    2) Allagan will always be slightly better or equal to Relic. Invest your time into coil (btw, c2 turns 1 and 2 can be done in i90, fyi) and get that. Might take the same amount of time to get an i115 weapon as it does fate grinding, and its better. Which leads to......

    3) If you don't have time, you shouldn't play an MMO, plain and simple. In regards to a group, I know of at least 20 free companies on Goblin, one of the lowest populated, that are recruiting for exactly what you want. If you can't find a group, it is either your skill level or your own stubbornness.

    I would love to have someone bash me for these while I stroke my Atma. XD

    What the requirements for this quest is asking is that people go around and do FATEs in general, across twelve areas, with no assurance that said Atma will drop within a few or few hundred FATEs. It is both clear and unclear at the same time. Worse still, it is mind numbingly easy.

    Nobody in this thread is asking to be given items straight away, we want a fair real challenge. Having to dart around zones hoping that we can get a drop from the RNG gods is not good quest design for something that has been hyped up as the next part of advancing our endgame weapons. We don't want a Rat Tail scenario from FFIV which I believe had a .4% drop rate.

    Now, I understand that the devs want FATEs to be played, thats fine by me, so long as they are meaningful and add something special. Remember when Lightning would show up at certain times during the marketing for Lightning Returns? What about when Shantotto somehow managed to cross over into Eorzea and be compared on a threat level to the Calamity, or the time when Golems from Dragon Quest popped in. Those were great fun in my opinion (I'm not sure what everyones feelings are on those FATEs though).

    It would've been neat if the FATEs that dropped these Atma were changed in someway, lets say, a Voidsent suddenly appeared in place of those Raptors in the Central Shroud, or if Odin showed up in Thanalan, what if the low level FATEs such as Alux got a power boost and instead of Lv10, it became Lv25? That would be a real visual indicator that these FATEs held something different.

    Sadly though what we have is quite a boring zerg rush coupled along with ridiculous RNG.

    Yeah, I don't dislike the FATE system itself. It works well for incidental side content - something you do because it happens to pop in the area you're in, or for a seasonal event. But, just like when FATE grinding was the main way to level up additional classes, it doesn't hold up when it's something you have to focus on for hours. It always devolves into staring at a map, then charging across the zone en-masse, spamming AoEs for a while, then staring at the map again. Thankfully SE made dungeons competitive and there wasn't much point in FATE grinding any more, which is probably why they were repurposed for the Atma quest, which brings up all the same problems again, plus more due to the lack of reliable progression. Hopefully they learn from it this time and avoid any future content which encourages doing FATEs for hours on end.

    It's sad, so many people still complaining about Atma. Just wait till you get to the 13500 mythology tombs... I mean, at least it's not RNG anymore, but it's the most tedious grind ever...

    You can circumvent the character limit by editing your post afterwards. It's a dumb limitation and I really wish they'd be done with it. Same with the post count limited by your level of all things. But that's for another thread.

    They should've just made the upgrade require all five EX Primals... possibly even Twintania if they want to get frisky with it.

    That's not even a thing, Don't make 13,500 myth a problem cause its not. If you do one book every 2 days you will be done in 18 days. Its not a big deal, Each book you do upgrades a skill so no one should be crying about 13.5k myth. If you are doing more than one relic then its a lot, But no one is forcing anyone to do them all at once.
