Just to add my opinion.

Grinding Atma from FATEs I otherwise have zero interest in doing is simply not fun (for me). The game should be fun. That isn't. So I'm not doing it. I'd rather wait till I get one of the other weapons.

I hope they change it to another activity. At least with the book portion, you know where you are, and you see where your goal is.

That is all.

The problem is to "get" alternatives...
From the look on things i guess most doing this because they do not have any alternatives!
Primals and Coil you need a static and thats a hard task...
You know, the fun stops when you no longer can progress with trial and error but just with pure luck or learning the pattern!
If you look at how many doing those atma grind and how many doing CT you may come to the conclusion that most players have choosen that they NEED those weapons...
Its not even a question of making it less grindy, its just the matter of luck that annoys most players!
Same mistake as SE done in 1.x and I wonder why they continue doing so...

At this point onwards I would like to see statistics about what players are doing ingame! Once because of some traveling for adventure i visited entrance of Coil - completely empty nowadays... Primals, farming for echo-buff and still abadone group at +30% because of wipes! In add to all this lag and freezing since 2.2 makes it somehow very hard to play "normal".

So I've been farming Atmas for 19 hrs (about 400 FATEs) and I've not come across a single one. Broken RNG is broken, this is unfair, I'm geared for end-game content and I can't even get a hit in on some of these Lvl 3 FATEs... Please SE, some kind of progress bar or anything, I can't deal with constant failure with no assurance I'm progressing in any way. (Also yes I have my Zenith/correct zone/have in completed quests).

I farmed with a few FC mates tonight and one of them got 3 Atma during our ~3 hour farm session, while I got none. Explain to me the balance.

By far this is the worst system I ever seen in a game, and 89 pages and no comments on it makes it more worse.
Stayed 3 days in the same zone doing the same thing over and over and over, and nothing drops.

People join my party not more than 30min and they get it.

Adding to this, PF is almost empty, no titan ex runs, no nothing, all of this because people are farming atma.

This patch made things worse, not better, sure they added cool things, but this atma farming id BS.

At this point, from what I've seen, I wouldn't be surprised if the drop rate is calculated from your character's Lodestone ID or something. A guy in my FC is working on his 4th weapon, meanwhile with about the same amount of grinding I am still 1/12 on my first weapon. That's a serious disparity that just cannot be defended. There is no reason it should take one person 1/10th the amount of WORK as another to do the same no-skill mind-numbing task.

You're asking for something as pointless as people comparing HQ results when facing west on Firesday during a full moon in FFXI.

So out of an entire series you bring up one of the worst examples in the series?

Atma droprate % involving puzzles of the Zodiacs is far better than a straight grind low % RNG.

Oh look progression, 12 puzzles, 12 steps. Sad thing is, if there is no random generator in the puzzle ppl would just look at a guide and get it done in 20mins.

Sooooo i just hit 3K Fates Achiev now!! +28 hours of Atma farming and still got 4 of them!! I hate this game

29 Mars : 5hours farm in La Noscea
30 Mars : 7hours farm in La Noscea, 1hour in Thanalan and 1hour in The Black Shroud
31 Mars : 3hours farm in Thanalan
01 April : 1hour farm in Thanalan
02 April : 8hours farm in La Noscea, 30mins in Thanalan and 2hours in The Black Shroud

Atma received : none, zero, nada, niente, nix, rien ...

I'll stop doing it, saw much too many come do 1-10 Fates and go with Atmas in their inventories, while I still got not a single one.

I would have prefered a grind method with actual progress, like do 200 Fates and get 1 Atma.
But no...no...it had to be rng......

This is me completely. I don't think I'll be seeing my Atma book. So I decided to just help my boyfriend get his wep and go for leviathan or something. I have terrible luck.

It won't be fixed because it doesn't need to be fixed. It needs to be adjusted or handled in a different way. Plus they are dealing with far more important things then to worry about this right now. Don't think just because there is nothing being done now, it can't be dealt with later. If you look on the other forums, the NA side isn't the only one complaining.
