Feedback Regarding the Relic Upgrade Quest

So. Freaking. Frustrated. This RNG stuff blows. Im paying for my good luck monday these past 2 days. Monday night I had 5 of them drop in less than 2 hours. The next day I got one on my 2nd fate. Now im going on 8 hours with nothing. Just needed to vent somewhere.

Total of about 600 fates to get all 12 for me with a 250ish fate dead spot between 7 and 8. On the plus side I got a ton of seals (almost 100k) to spend on ventures and i70 crafting mats. Not looking forward to the myth grind now, even if you can do first 2 bosses in brayflox in 10 minutes, that's 5 hours of grinding the same 2 bosses over and over again per book and a total of 45 hours to do all 9. Just the myth. Minimum. Most people are probably not going to break 150 myth per hour though so closer to 90 hours. No wonder SE saying the number of completions going to be small by 2.25. Assuming it drops around the halfway mark between 2.2 and 2.3 that's roughly 6 weeks to put in those 90 hours. 2 hours a day every day seems a little ridiculous to just get the tomes required to do the upgrade quests, not even factoring in the actual objectives you need to complete. All said and done, guessing that it's going to take an average player between 135 and 150 hours of play time to complete an animus once you factor in atma, myth and objectives.

No wonder SE saying the number of completions going to be small by 2.25.

That's because most people are still going to be working on Atmas.

This is my 4th day trying to get my 7th atma from central than. I hope I never get within arms reach of the person that came up with this idea.

I doubt there are any lore possibilities, given that in my 26 hours of grinding so far, during the times when I've been in groups, I've seen the Atmas drop (for other people, sadly, and not myself) from every type of FATE, and different FATEs of the same type. If there was some sort of lore-related rhyme or reason to how they drop, there would be some kind of identifiable pattern, and there just isn't one. It's totally random.

Wasn't referring to FATE types or different FATES of the same type. Was referring to SE past practice in the series and even Zodiac Lore.

Folks comparing same Atma type drops - Time of Drop, weather, etc. I've seen little to none of that in this thread. Maybe I'm asking for too much.

You're asking for something as pointless as people comparing HQ results when facing west on Firesday during a full moon in FFXI.

Human brains are not well-equipped to handle extremely low chances of success at a repeated action; as habitual foragers we are encoded with a drive to look for markers of success and follow them. However, you do not have to fall into this trap; The most likely and best explanation is that it's nothing but random number generation.

I actually got my atma relic this morning. The RNG made it a bit more rewarding.

And guess what, people will powerhouse through it and you are going to complain that there is nothing to do.
This isn't suppose to be done in a week. Or a month.

30 Mars : 7hours farm in La Noscea, 1hour in Thanalan and 1hour in The Black Shroud
31 Mars : 3hours farm in Thanalan
01 April : 1hour farm in Thanalan
02 April : 8hours farm in La Noscea, 30mins in Thanalan and 2hours in The Black Shroud

Atma received : none, zero, nada, niente, nix, rien ...

I'll stop doing it, saw much too many come do 1-10 Fates and go with Atmas in their inventories, while I still got not a single one.

I would have prefered a grind method with actual progress, like do 200 Fates and get 1 Atma.
But no...no...it had to be rng......
