And btw, the grandfather of rpg is the D&D system, which again was used in highly popular games like Baldur's gate 1/2 and Neverwinter Night 1/2. If you don't think even a modicum of rng should exist in ffxiv, then I question why you are playing an MMORPG.
please read my original post RNG is needed in an mmo for it to survive but RNG has its place and its not in an event like this.
