Feedback Regarding the Relic Upgrade Quest

I HATE FATES!!!

Please add an alternative way of getting atma, like... Beat extreme primals or something... I don't care, but please put it in a dungeon.
I know there are other ilvl100+ weapons out there, but I like my relic and I want to upgrade it... But if you keep forcing me to join these boring fates, I will quit this game. I play this game to adventure with people, not to stand around alt tabbed for hours

Ok I don't know if it coincidence or what, But today I was in a party for a few hours and 3 people got the Atma of Scales from the same fate with the Nest Commander (Ant). Anyways I just got it from him too. Has anyone else got Atma of the Scales from any other fate in Central Thanalan? I know the journal say "Fates" so it may just be coincidence.

This has been enough to put a very sour taste in my mouth. My Sub runs until July because before 2.2 and the grind you decided to put in place I loved this game and wanted to support it. So I put in for a 6 month sub I am now regretting that decision because the forced fate grinding with a very small chance to get the drop needed is a horrid design and is not any form of content I would wish to be forced to do as it stands now. I would hope that Yoshida and other Devs would see this is not a valid path nor a wanted path to upgrading our relics and they will change it in some fashion to make it better. When Yoshida announced that 2.2 would take a long time to upgrade your relic I was all for it thinking it would be a very long quest line that would require 4 man groups and maybe hunting a rare spawn mob. When I found out it was fate grinding with a small chance to get the items needed. The only reason I did not cancel my sub immediately is I would not wish to let my FC Raid Group down.

Got first atma within 50 FATEs today...
Talked to someone else who said he spent many hours trying to get one without success... Turned out he didn't have a zenith equipped while he was trying...

To people that say they've done hundreds without getting any atma yet: are you actually using your zenith or are you using another weapon?

Honestly I wouldn't mind this too much if we could at least be other classes and the FATEs drop the Atma's just because you have the quest for it (as in relic weapon equipped not needed). But instead I just feel like I'm doing this for nothing xD don't feel like I'm accomplishing anything other than slowly losing my sanity. I keep spacing out as the minutes roll by lol. I got 5 and still feel bleh about it. But if we could at least be other classes it wouldn't be so bad imo. I don't like grinding but leveling in this game isn't much of a grindfest so I wouldn't mind grinding other classes while I farmed Atma's *-* Rather than other games where you could grind all day and not make one level lol

edit: 5, not 6 lol too much staring at the screen today blindly xD

Edit 2: Also it would have been really cool if the names of the Atma hinted to specific FATEs we had to do *-*

Gosh....it's been _one_ day. ONE! Some crazy people already well into Animus stage too. It's hardly a significant upgrade either, just a minor pit stop until they add more upgrades. Instead of crying about how the weapon isn't found in your mailbox after the servers go back up, just....stop ripping your hair out over it? Do something else? Just do FATEs as you pass by (I got atmas already this way)? Get one of the 3 weapons that are better at this stage anyway? Geez :P and then when you get the Animus for all 9 jobs in a mad grindfest you'll moan that you only log in on Tuesdays to farm coil then nothing else for the week and threaten to leave...
