Animus is i100 as well, they mentioned they'll be extending it in 2.25.I don't know if it's intentional but Atma and Animus weapons have low damages compared to others.
Eg:
For warrior:
Atma (lvl 100) 46 damage = other lvl 90 weapon, 46 damage
Amimus (lvl 110) 49 damage = weather lvl 100 weapon, 49 damage
Coil already has a lvl 115 weapon drop and I'm ok with it being higher. But being a subpar lvl 110 weapon, really?

Deeply unhappy about this development to be honest. I've spent hours grinding FATEs this evening, an activity I've always found to be achingly boring (thank you for offering other ways to level secondary classes in 2.1!). And I have nothing to show for it. I could have spent the evening doing something far less boring and achieved exactly the same amount of progression on the Atma quest.
FFXIV has generally steered clear of annoying, frustrating content like this. Now it's killing my desire to play the game. It's not challenging or difficult, just tedious and unrewarding. Please reconsider the brutal RNG nature of this grind.

I wonder if SE changes their path before same happens as in 1.x ...
If I dont know we are already in 2.2, I would think your post comes from 1.x... you know: in 1.x RNG was the evil mastermind and World-Boss, no one ever have beaten... once we had little hopes when skirmish was released, but then vanished in 2.0...
20 hours and no atma...weee

More pointless grinding to keep people subbed.
Classic Technique.
So True.
The whole ATMA grind is painfully SLOW. 4 hours of grinding FATEs in ONE region and still no drop!!! The drop rates need to be increase, now. If this does not change SE will lose many paying subscribers.
What I wish I could do when
I get an RMT message:
one of my FC was excited about the new relic upgrade, when the patch went live he didnt do anything other than trying to get ATMA, for 6 hours in a low level zone he didnt get any.
what did he do?
he quit the game, and looking for a new game to play now.
my other friend did the same, and all i can see now in game or on forums that people hate FATE and dont want to do anything with them.
why SE force people to do fate is strange to me.
people wont just stay in the game and grind more and stay subbed, they will just leave and look for another game to have fun in.

The fate grindings are pointless and it causes a lot of people quitting the weapon quest because we spent so much times but didn't receive any rewards. I rather SE told us to do all the fates in each region in 12 hours or do 1200 fates than just UNLIMITED FATE without knowing when it will drop. A lot of the times, I went in with my friends for fate grinding then my friend came in the same time - did one fate and he got it. I sat there for 4 hours and didn't get anything. My friends and I couldn't even play or do anything together because of this. Give us a number or something. Also fate should be for people who need to level. Seriously after doing this, I don't think I want to do ATMA for my other classes and alt. The whole weekend is fate grinding and only 2 drops. This is nonsense
When summoners come together, everything melts like butter in the sun.

I'd be ok with fates, if the zones all had higher level fates, and some of the zones are just crappy (M. La Noscea, Upper La Noscea, W. Thanalan) due to how long they are, stuff like this just prolongs a potentially longer rng grind. Would of been nice to have fates in n. thanalan, or some place with higher level fates. Western La Noscea for example I thought was a really easy atma, since you could just chill in the spawning grounds, lots of fates pop, and in no time you have lots of gc seals and an atma. Even if it takes hours, it nice to not be running around like a chicken with his head cut off trying to reach a fate.
If you’re a casual player (have 2 hours to play a day) this quest is not for you and if you cant get a static for coil then forget about i100-115 weapons.
Already some of my friends decided to quit, and a lot are talking about the same thing.
It seems like the hardcore players convinced SE that this game should be harder.
