The only people who find this acceptable are FFXI veterans who think it's okay to do something so mind-numbing and devoid of challenge because it gets them items. You people don't care about fun factor. You simply care about the prestige of possessing items, despite the mile of shit you had to hike through to get it. As someone who likes video games, this attitude disgusts me. Stop enabling S-E to churn out uninspired shit and trying to pass it as actual content.
I don't really care what the relic is used for. The process to get it is insulting to gamers.

I don't think the grindy part is the problem as much as it is grinding FATEs.
FATEs were designed to be stitching that holds other pieces of content together. Waiting for DF? Do a FATE. On the way to a quest marker? Do a FATE. Finish a log entry? Do a FATE. Going to a leve objective? Do a FATE. Doing a FATE? Do a FATE.
At least when you grind mob kills or SB, there is a set of targets that spawn independently of players in the vicinity, cluster in the same place and all die at the same rate. FATEs are literally and figuratively all over the place.
And you have to make a macro for level sync because god damn that blinking golden button.
Be lucky we got long term content, you could have gotten the easy version that is "Relic Reborn". I rather have that then something that I can get done within a day or two for a "Relic/Zodiac".The only people who find this acceptable are FFXI veterans who think it's okay to do something so mind-numbing and devoid of challenge because it gets them items. Things this does right:
1) Gets people to the open world instead of 2 days of doing it and then you sit in your nest waiting for DF to pop lol
2) Stops this whole issue of " It's a Monday game (I have plenty of things to do personally)"
In terms of Open World content it's a step in the right direction as they are practically promoting you to go to the open world.

You could just save your tomes for two weeks and get a weapon that's equivalent or better AND upgradeable from there. Go back and do the relic when you're complaining about only logging in on Tuesdays.
There's a lot to be enjoyed in this content if all you desire is new gear then it's obvious why you ain't finding the time to have fun.
I didn't rush the main scenario but so many people did only to complain about the lack of thereof.
It's not about TIME. Why can't you realize this?
If you are going to wave a carrot in front of me and make me grind my ass off and play the game to get it, that's fine. That is the nature of MMO's and I'm prepared to do that. Just make me do something actually challenging, social, interactive, and fun. Because at the end of the day, I'm playing a video game and I want to have fun.
Entitlement
your use of generalizations and broad categorizations is ridiculous. the people who are fine with the current atma quest go beyond ffxi veterans. don't make statements unsupported by facts- it disgusts me.The only people who find this acceptable are FFXI veterans who think it's okay to do something so mind-numbing and devoid of challenge because it gets them items.
