Hello everyone. Welcome to any MMO ever in this current day and age. Old content becomes irrelevant, new content becomes the King. (And Yoshi P. mentioned at 2.0 launch that this was going to happen, so I do not know why everyone is surprised.)
When 2.2 comes out coil 1-5 will no longer be top tier content. Basically ilvl 90 gear will be the new darklight, since they adding a new tombstone, (probably for AF2) I would assume myth would be uncapped, the new tombstone will have a cap. 6-9 will probably have ilvl 110-120.
1-5 is the catch up to get people into the new top tier content 6-9. I have no problem with them removing the lockout gives people chance to catch up and hardcore players can gear all their alt jobs to ilvl 90 fairly easily.
Oh wow, they are doing the end game gear hopping thing? Why am I suddenly envisioning their meetings with management going somewhere along the lines of "Oh yeah, the metrics say this idea worked great because look how many people are paying to have this!" It's groundhog day in MMO land all over again!
MMO's being a waste of time is to be expected but I've never known it to be so obvious as in this game. At least when it's hidden and handled correctly you barely notice when things are moving on. I don't think SE are really cut out for a WoW type MMO, they were better off with 1 simple level cap.
The future of the genre is very bleak in my eyes, and I am in no way trying to speak for others. Personally I am just disappointed by all this short but instant gratification - I like to work for achievements but then be proud of what I've achieved rather than be happy with something that's made worthless in a few weeks.

Given the loot lockouts it takes about 3 of those months to actually get the gear at least unless you're very lucky, factoring in the difficulty of the runs as well you'd probably take a bit longer than that. The point is this is the future of MMO's, I may have been exaggerating when I said a few weeks but the principal is the same. Instant gratification means it's always somewhat pointless earning the achievements, because they aren't achievements. They still get made worthless at some point or another. Like I said, I'm not speaking for others, only my view of the genre compared to what I consider the "good ol days".
Can't say I agree with the Op on this one. Though it will be easier for people to get the gear we now have ive been waiting and waiting and waiting for tank drops to happen to our tanks so I could have a chance at them and passing everything to ensure maybe I have a chance for them after they finally drop to the tanks so this is update actually makes me want to dance ^^:

Removing the lockouts is cool, but I don't understand why there nerfing the fights there already stupid easy. Also why did they bother locking CT to one item a week if they planned on doing this.
Awesome I finally got my own way , that was to remove lock outs . Guilds are old school , get with the times its all about DF baby!Anyone else think they shagged the players and guilds that spent 1-2 months working towards getting turn 1-5 down and then they removed lockouts to give the casual players a chance to farm stuff on a plate while those who worked hard on t5 only given the chance to do 1 week on t5 for loot.
Good job saying F***U to the fcs and guilds that worked it. No point in having guilds in this game anymore its all duty finder
